Your life is currency.

In this game, everything and everyone has it's own value. From the seed that you pick up from the forest to plant in your farm, the wood you use to build houses and fuel your campfire, to the different animals that you meet in the forest, each having its own set of abilities. As their new mayor, the fate of the village is in your hands, make the right choice and see it grows, or choose to keep it a smaller tight-knit community. Your life is the currency, you decide.

As you begin your new role, you will need to gather food, seed and wood to the village to make sure your community grow. Be careful, the forest has many dangers. Bring back your finding to the campfire and the barn, build farms and houses (press B) and bring new animals to your little town.

Those new friends will help you gather food, get through bigger obstacle (rabbit = jump higher, bear = can move big boulder and rocks, duck can see danger and treasure from the sky)...

And don't forget, every day, our villagers consume food. If we ran out of food or wood, the villagers will leave until there is no one anymore... Same thing for the campfire. They need to feel secure at night, always keep some wood in stock !

~~Please make sure that you play the game in fullscreen mode with a 1920 X 1080 resolution !~~ ~~I will fix the UI tonight so it will be compatible with lower resolution. Thank you for you understanding :)~~

Finally FIXED ! You can now play in lower resolution and the UI should still be working :) Both web and windows version are now working correctly :D

HOW TO PLAY:

  • Movement: A S D W
  • Rotate Camera: right click + drag
  • Zoom in/out: mouse scroll
  • Jump: space
  • Run: hold shift
  • Build menu: B
  • Reset Camera : R
  • Restart Game : P

I hope you will like this game. I developed it solo in 72 hours while streaming on twitch and it was an amazing experience :)

Oh and if you like the game, a post jam version is under development ! ;)

I can't play the game because the links don't lead anywhere. Maybe you forgot to push publish on the download pages?

@dkmk100 Thank you very much ! It's deeply appreciated :) I'm glad you enjoyed it ! I had to put a lot of features on hold since I was lacking time to implement them (more NPC interaction, villagers working in the different buildings, switching your main character with another animal to gain bonus (ex.: rabbit -> jump higher, run faster) but I'm working on a post-ludumdare version :D with all those features implemented ;)

@gamedevkng I am looking forward to the post-jam version! I recommend you also work on the camera. The concept is amazing although the execution could use a little work it is overall very smooth. I love the way you can knock down the old hedgehogs who teach you things( not a nice way to repay them! :smirk: ) and how cute the animal models are.

@gamedevkng you realize you have to rate other people's games for them to be able to find yours, right? If you don't rate other people's games yours wont get rated and you won't qualify

@dkmk100 I will certainly fix the camera (or try to :P) And yes I need to rate others, I was trying to fix the resolution problem before. I had a similar issue in a previous gamejam and a lot of people complained about the 1920x1080 only resolution. I think I figured it out, I will ran some tests tonight :) Thank you again for your feedback :) I will let you know as soon as the post-ld version is available :)

Love the atmosphere of this game, but some issues with camera and controls (and floating hint panels) are making the game hard to play.
