I had to watch the gameplay video before I realised where I was going wrong - I wasn't taking the batteries back to the podium :) Nice game, I played it several times.

Nice game. I like the visuals. I think a view effects like particles and stuff are missing. They would add a lot.
But I had fun playing it

Good looking game ! I really like the colors/UI you used. A little hint telling me to go back to the base with the battery would've been nice.

Nice shake cam and the game is working smoothly even if it may benefit from some variety.

OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS SO MUCH FUN!

For reals, the graphics might be a bit subpar(although they are super duper charming), but the gameplay just feels so engaging! I just kept on playing and playing.

The screenshake is a bit too harsh and it would be nice to have some progression but other than that it's a pretty enjoyable game!

Nice game! I thought that the controls were very smooth and that the game was very balanced in difficulty. Perhaps you could add a greater variety of enemies.

Nice game man! At some points I couldn't collect the batteries, I would go over them and nothing :O

Solid entry!

That gun is pretty satisfying. The stun was a bit annoying, but overall I enjoyed it! Nice little arcade-y game.

Hey, this was a lot of fun! The mechanics worked really well together, was fun to try and beat my score.

This is a pretty cool take on the theme. lots of people are doing the whole "energy always draining, either pick stuff up or go to a place to recharge," but I think you took it one step further. You sort of added an extra layer to the mechanic by making me kill enemies, THEN go to a specific spot in order to redeem my pickups. I think that's really smart, because it makes me have to balance killing enemies with returning to the base. Adding that one extra step really makes all of the difference. The visuals are pretty basic, but functional and the player character is somewhat charming. I do like the use of screen shake when hitting enemies. It really drives home the impact of each hit. This game probably needs a few more mechanics to be introduced as the waves go on, but it is simple, focused, and doesn't overstay its welcome. I certainly enjoyed my time with this game.

This was a lot of fun! Very arcade-y. The music is really awesome too. It wasn't totally clear that I needed to take my batteries back to the base to boost my power levels, but I think it was a nice touch to make it a choice between more powerful shots or keeping the game running.

Very nice! and that was the most badass looking Main character :D...... really enjoyed it. i do think that enemies should spawn more often, other than that its really nice and fun.

Hi, everyone!
First of all, thank you for your amazing comments (specially @superpokeunicorn, you almost write an essay back there!)

I have a couple of free days this week so I'm going to improve the game a little, based on your comments. These are the changes I plan to do:

1. Explain, in-game, how the recharge mechanic works.
2. Improve the graphics effects: adding particles, afterimages for bullets and better animations.
3. Better camera shake.
4. A new enemy.

I will release this new version after the jam ends. Thank you again for your support.

Fun and cute! The gameplay is simple and it works! I also noticed that the bullets were bigger when you were low on battery, I don't know if it improves the power or just the size but I like that!

Graphics and audio are cool too!

I really enjoyed playing it, good job!

Great fun to play, thanks! I thought the controls, graphics and audio were all great. I like the way the creatures would steal batteries as well as dropping them. It got really hectic after a while!

This is a pretty solid take on the theme. I like the sunglasses robot. The art style itself is a little lacking, but the audio is solid and the screenshake and knockback add very welcome juice to the game. Once I understood how the recharge mechanic worked, I found myself planning around it - for example, I would try to kill an enemy closer to the computer so I could make the trip with the battery shorter. It's a mechanic with a lot of potential. I got 51 kills / 173 time / 36 batteries on my second attempt. Well done!
