made by shulololo for LD 44 (JAM)

You've just recently gained one billion dollars out of the blue. Even though you have more money than most people, you still have to pay off your bills.

The title of the game is from the song "C.R.E.A.M." by Wu-Tang Clan.

The game has 18 payment bills (or levels) and it should take at least 10 minutes to complete.

Patch Notes:

4/30/2019 * Fixed a typo.

4/29/2019 * I removed the in-game cursor so that it works with just the regular desktop cursor. The original in-game cursor will have bugs like disappearing on occasion.

I'm having trouble starting the game - my mouse cursor disappears when I start the game so I can't click on the menus. I'm on a Mac in Chrome.

Thanks for playing! I'll try to resolve these issues later on tonight but a hot fix for now is that if the mouse dissappears, press R to restart the game so the mouse is in the center again. I'll make an update tonight when I fix these problems.

A quick update. I made some fixes where it should work with just the regular mouse cursor now, not the in-game mouse cursor. Hopefully no more bugs galore after this lol.

Fun, unique game. Just the screen seemed off center on my laptop. Interesting concept!

It's unique and fun I tell you that. Though I didn't feel like my choices matter that much

Nicely done. Eat your landlords! I like the switch between easy and hard mode, it's humorous but also like pretty poignant.

@gamesalive Thanks! I'll take a look at that issue tonight. Were you playing the game on the browser?

@wolderado Thanks for playing! I see what you mean. At first I wanted to make it so that the player had to be careful about what to pay for and what not to pay for. Unfortunately I didn't give myself time to work on that idea for this LDJam but if I make a similar game to this in the future I'll make sure to make the choices matter next time.

@sam-machell Thanks for playing! If there's one thing I wish I could've done better in hard mode is to actually make it a bit hard haha.

Yeah it seemed off center on the browser edition and some word were missing from long pieces of text

I like the humor of this game! The sounds were a bit annoying though :D But it's good overall!

The 'hidden' hard mode is good idea! I like it. Good luck!

This was pretty cool!
I really like the idea, and it looks/sounds great! Though, I feel like the "Cha-ching" noise was cut a little short.

I was trying to be strategic about who I sent money to, thinking about some deep mechanics. But, as I see from your previous comment, I guess you ran out of time. If you manage to implement this kind of thing later, it'd give the game a *huge* boost. (At the moment, you can literally just give as much money as possible and there's no lose condition)

Great job on this! Enjoyed it :D

@mrpiedpiper Yeah, it's a shame that it didn't get implemented in. Not sure if I'm going to make a post-jam version of the game but if I make a similar game like this in future game jams I'll make sure that I'll put that game mechanic in. I just gotta work on time management more for game jams in general haha! Thanks for playing!

Cool concept, i really liked the twist! I did feel a bit sad that what i did mattered nothing tho :(

Cool game an original concept! Might have been nice to include an element of randomness in, so you're not always sure how much you'll lose.

Man, I really wish I could've explored more the post-prison world you suddenly find yourself in. Was it an apocalypse? Hell? Armageddon? Also interested in seeing where certain events lead, such as the Devil and Illuminati. Really cool ideas!

@empyrean Sorry about that haha! I wanted to make the choices more consequential but time was not on my side.

@lagman9000 That would be a cool idea! That'll make the game more interesting by having the player think more about their choices.

@afroant You know, I haven't really thought of it like that lol. The Devil and Illuminati stuff was there to make the game more silly but I wouldn't have thought it would accidentally create lore. But now that I had some time to think about it, it would probably be more close to hell because of the Devil's ransom. I probably should've thought about the post-prison world more haha!

Thank y'all for playing!

Great concept. It's a shame that you didn't have time to make the choices more meaningful, but what is here is already very entertaining in its own right.
