Itchio page !

Venture trough space and time, fighting hordes of ennemies ! But will you be able to confront your worst nightmare? Maybe your worst ennemies won't be the ships shooting at you, but the game and the industry in itself...

(This is intended as a parody and a satire, not as a real game. Do not try to play it seriously, there is way better shmups out there ^^ )

controls :

  • arrow and space to move and validate
  • mouse to interact with in-app purchases

As I can't participate the second day, I preferred to make a small funny game, than to try to make half of a real game ^^

Have fun ^^

The link with the theme "The more you have, the worse it is" is the more you have stupid achievement and In-app purchases, the worse it is :p

Very funny, and it fits the theme perfectly. This is a unique approach to the theme and I like it.

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.

As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.

We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.

Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can.

I was feeling annoyed for a little bit of time to find the game is meant to be annoying lol.

Very good joke game and quite suitable to the theme~

I love how this game pokes fun of EA, micro-transactions, and gaming in general, all while perfectly fitting the theme of the jam! Like you said, the gameplay isn't great, but I think its charm more than makes up for it.

HAHA this is great!!! One of the No Thanks is almost impossible to click, but I did end up getting it. I really felt some pride and accomplishment with that.

It was really missing lootboxes though, why should I be able to pay 9.99$ to unlock the pause button, when I can pay 14.99$ to unlock a loot box, and another 24.99$ for a pack of 5 keys to unlock the box, and get the chance to unlock the quit button, or just get nothing.

The sad thing, is that the gameplay in the game within the game, has better gameplay than a lot of games in the genre that I have played.

You managed to get the frustration of the popups and pointless achievements down perfectly.

Very funny, but think of the money you could have made had you offered a pay to stop popup.

Lol, your game is a jerk! This was very good, you really managed to frustrate me, as a player, which made it all the more funny. A lot of jokes have been made about the EA situation but I think this did a great job of actually getting an emotional response out of the player. Good satire indeed.

No sound and some spelling errors hurt the presentation a little but you can't have everything.

An acheivement system in a compo game? Impressive! Well, not really;)

The first game that makes me laughed so much, well done!

I want to quit the game. Can someone please give me 19,99$?

It would be fun to try to connect it to a real micro-transaction system and see how much you can earn. (not really)

This was frustrating and fun at the same time... I really liked it! Definitely one of the most original ones I've seen for LD40. :) Congratulations!

This is great! A very similar point to the game I made, but a completely different execution! Congrats!

Too realistic and not enough pay-to-win loot-boxes.

I would have liked a bit more gameplay in the beginning of the game, and then slowly ramp-up the achievements and the micro-transaction pop ups. Overall a fun little game.

We had the same basic idea, but your implementation is WAY better than mine. Really enjoyed this. I got a great sense of pride and accomplishment throughout my play session.
