A Heart of Light by Mr ChocolateSalmon

Wanted to try something with shadows/shaders, so I created this minimalist game.
Controls and gameplay
- WASD to move.
- R to restart
- Go near characters to claim them.
- Click characters to sacrifice them to light the way and recharge your own light.
- Make it to the end with at least one character still alive.
POST JAM FIXES
- Restarting and exiting
- Background sound
- Added/Finished Water collision and effect
- Fixed bug setting player active and having characters at the wrong Z

The concept seems interesting, but it needs something other to keep pace of the game (like monsters hunting you in dark? That could do) - of course it is a jam game, so time to create it isn't unlimited.

Also there are monsters that hunt you in the dark, but I didn't get enough time to give them much other functionality.

Worms are too fast and it was hard for me to escape. Managed to get past the bridge and explored most of the second section. I get where the "sacrifice" part is coming from and I actually had bits of fun here and there exploring the map and killing NPCs. Not a bad entry overall :P

Hey thanks for the feedback mate! Yeah the worms don't get activated till after you pass the bridge out of the starting area :sunglasses:
@plagueofminds Yeah, looking back at the game I realize I made the world to big given the resources you have. If I make a post jam version, one of the first things I'll do is make the map shorter :thumbsup:
