Really good! The tutorial is amazing, and maybe one of the best I've seen so far. It both told the story and explained the gameplay. The graphics were perfect. Love the eyes that followed the mouse. Controls felt great. Pacing felt good too. The rockets didn't seem to do much aside from increase your 'score', so I wonder if they could be exploration ships being launched that fly to other colonies or something. Overall great game. Gonna recommend it, and one of my favorites so far.

If you guys get a chance please check out my game at:

Feedback is greatly appreciated!

Cool game I made 13 launches :D @cambryx Very nice that you took the time to make a tutorial which was quite nice :)

@yves I'm glad you like our game! The tutorial was one of our main goals when creating the game. But sometimes it made everything a lot harder. It felt like fixing a bug in the tutorial caused at least one new bug in the main game and vice versa :D

This is a well-made entry! The art in particular was very nice and had an appealing style to it. What program did you use? The game was definitely well-polished. For a suggestion, it did seem to take a little effort to die. Either that, or I didn't go long enough.

Amazing entry. :)

@skullpixel Thanks for the feedback! For making the game we used Unity. The graphics were created using Adobe Illustrator. If you play the game fore some time, it will get extremely challenging with asteroids all over the place :)

That was a really interesting entry. It felt really responsive to play and combining all the various tasks (avoiding comets, defending against the ones you cant avoid, letting ships launch) was really interesting. I liked the way comets that came near you were affected by your gravity too. Also the googly eyes following the mouse in the tutorial was a nice little touch. Great work!

Funny gameplay and addicting. At the end i'm worried about my population

What a fantastic game! Thoroughly enjoyed it, the tutorial was simple yet informative and a really nice addition given the timescale. The art style fits perfectly and the concept is brilliant, I was trying my hardest to defend all my population! All round a fantastic entry and a solid game, well done

First you really did a great job with your tutorial! Many games that would have needed one more than yours did not have one and yours explains the mechanics so well that even a monkey would understand it!

The minimalistic vector graphics are also loveley and those eyes reminded me so much at the fun I had when staring super mario 64 back in the day!

It is a great game! For a post jam version you could definetly add some sort of upgrade mechanic to the planets.

Awesome!

Great game! I didn't do the tutorial until after my first try, and the results were pretty hilarious. I didn't realize the shield would block the rockets! The game mechanics are simple and easy to comprehend, graphics are solid, and the difficulty curve is perfect. Good work!

Neat little action score hunt. Well themed, the audio is great and the graphics cute and consistent. The graphics remind me of Kurzgesagt, but that might just be a coincidence.

The shield didn't seem to always block the asteroids, could be the size of the shield collider or just my eyes playing tricks on me.

Fine job!

Excellent entry! Graphics are cute and well executed (I'm thinking about physic of gravity that modify asteroid trajectory in particular), gameplay is solid and interesting. I wish I could give you some feedbacks about what is wrong, but honestly, I find everything good! Very well done! ;)

Art is cute (Illustrator right?:yum:) and although simple the gameplay works. And GREAT tutorial. Good job overall guys!

CONS:
-I wouldn't play more than 1 game :frowning2:
-The barrier controlls shouldn't be relative to the planet position. I found that screwing me up more than i'd like to.

I liked this a lot. The combination of mechanics is just enough to keep it difficult and engaging without being truly overwhelming or frustrating. I like that the punishment for messing up is just a reduction in score rather than having to start all over again. The graphics are very cute as well.

I would have preferred if the shield controls were either measured relative to the center of the screen or controlled with left/right keys. It was difficult putting the shield where I wanted while moving my dude around.

Still, awesome game. Most fun I've had so far this LD.

Very fun game, Art is top notch, my only frustration was being bombarded by asteroids that I had no warning of from off screen, maybe add a count down or something? Great Work!

Well packed game, from beginning to the end.
Sorry for this silly question but.. while playing I kept asking to my self: if the rocket crash with the shield, the population count is decremented??
I understand if you wouldn't give me the answer

@homineludens your population is not decreased when blocking rockets with your shield.

Great little game! The tutorial is a great feature as well has having fresh inviting graphics. Enjoyed my time with it, though i found myself not moving and just blocking with the shield.

Really nicely polished, good tutorialisation that was a pleasure to play through, great art, music and the addition of the shield and launch mechanics really complimented the simple design and made it interesting to play. Well done!

Hey @cambryx, thank you for your feedback on Solar Smash. I got here via your comment.

Good job on your awesome game! The art style works perfectly, and the interesting story and simple mechanics together make for a really fun and engaging experience. The increasing difficulty also makes the game nice and challenging, and creates some serious chaos! Playing this has taught me some valuable lessons that I'll be taking into the next Ludum Dare.

This is my new favourite entry I think! The tutorial is really good and I love your graphics, simple style but great details like the moving eyes. I also enjoyed the music (but I think at one point it got suddenly a little louder?) and the difficulty curve.
I made 13 launches, and blocked 19 asteroids in 94 seconds during my first try.

Its a really good game! I love the eyes at the menu and the graphic! The sound is pretty good too.
Maybe add a count for the shield and the life of the planet. But its a fun game and I really enjoy playing it, thanks for that ^^
