Kill’em is a poker game which is played with a 30 card deck, a revolver, a sub-machine gun and a flail. In this super brutal game, instead of betting money, players bet their health. The last one who resists loss of blood wins. The rest probably deserve to lose.

Players start the game with 100 health. Each bet, damage and healing is 5 health. A round has 3 betting phases. The first one is mandatory. After the last betting phase, if you bet 5 more health, you can discard a card and draw a new one.

The player who has the greatest number of cards with the same type wins the round. For example, 1-1-2-1-3 beats 5-2-2-1-3, because that hand contains a combo with a length of 3. If two hands have the same combo length, the combo with higher card value wins (e.g. 1-2-2-4-3 beats 2-1-1-5-4). If there is still a draw, players with lower combo lengths lose their bets. Also, cards don’t show their effects in this case. If only one player is left in the round, others lose their bets. In short, just try to have the same type of cards.

ps. I don't have anything against these player names. I just designed three different ai behaviors and named them this way.

nice game here. the one thing that botthered me was with the one on one after the other two opponents die, depending on how much life one has pretty much determines the winner here. i played a few games and who ever had the most health during the one on one always won. but that was just my experience. was a fun game, and would like to see this with a full deck of cards and more things to punish with.

This was loads of fun. I like the two layered nature of the strategy. It's not always in your best interests to win every hand. I could see this being expanded upon with all manner of different cards and rules. Great entry.

Good stuff :8ball:

This was fun but I lost game when I had energy left. Also I would invert the numbers so the most powerful cards have a weak value. The shoot yourself should be 6 imho

I would have won but the game got stuck! Maybe Angela is dead but somehow still has some health? Oh, and boy did it feel good when 'Donald' was beat!

@benjamin @gwinnell i realized a bug in end game conditions (it occurs sometimes). that ss helped a lot to figure it out  I'll fix it sometime after play+rate ends. thanks for playing everyone.

Cool game! I like the concept and I think it fits the theme really well. Like OddballDave mentioned above I like how the effects of the cards require more thought than just going for the highest number.

Seems like there's a bug that sometimes disallows you from clicking any options after receiving your hand (not sure how to reproduce it). Happened to me twice, so sadly I didn't finish the game.

Really nice concept! Would be interesting to see an entire deck with more effects.

@liauj that's very weird and I'm sorry to hear that. gonna search for that error. I started to think that some cards may cause some bugs in certain conditions. thank you very much!

Cool idea taking some insipiration from poker and combining it with the theme! Maybe make the card distribution animation faster. Other than that a solid entry!

Very nice game here!

I didn't read the rules beforehand, but the game rules were so simple and visual clues helped a lot to figure out the game quickly
congratulations!

Pretty fun and fits the theme well! I can easily see myself enjoying a version of this with more content and depth, like more card effects and different actions during a turn that facilitate strategy... But that probably won't be poker anymore  Nice concept!

Loved the game! Smart move of betting of own HP (life).
Nice and smooth art. Liked it when showing the chicken when trying to be "out" of current round lol.
Good luck!

The graphics really made this game for me! It's somewhat intuitive, one can learn without reading the rules, which I appreciate, although I did check them just to be sure I knew what I was doing :P good job!
