  • Other sprites were created using Photoshop.
  • The animations were created using the UMotion asset.
  • All sounds were recorded at home using a Zoom H2
  • The light settings are Baked indirect + GI using the Enlighten system.
  • All static objects such as the chairs/tables etc. have been light-baked.

Thought it was beautiful, a little dark though, making the objects hard to find. I loved the little snarky bits of comedy, but struggled to understand my goal at the beginning, and after I lost I got stuck on the loading screen. I never knew I could take a Pizza Oven so seriously

@riyroo Thanks for the feedback. :) I'll check that loading bug out and I'll try to raise the brightness a little. I think it's a bit high on my monitor. I'm glad we have made a impression on you when it comes to Pizza Ovens :D

@capnat Awesome :D

@weiiswurst Haha, sorry.. We tried to limit ourselves with 2K textures and compression, but yeah, it is what it is I guess. :)

Too dark hard to find items, also game stuck after restarting.
The atmosphere is good and sound is good.

Nice job, the environment it's cool but too dark in my opinion. The controls are nice. At the beggining part of my text went out of my screen. Good job bro!

The game looks and sounds fantastic. I'm not really sure I get the humor but that doesn't matter. I'm sure someone else would lul if you just continue working on it, this game would be great. maybe clicking on the object should pick up and hold it and then clicking again should throw. clicking and holding felt weird

@savegor Glad you liked it, thank you for playing!

@piter You're right, there's a bug in the lighting and also one when loading. Working on a fix! Thank you for playing.

@adriagonzalez Thank you for trying it out. OK, I will take a look, that's probably a CanvasScaler issue.

@jdelaay025johnd1788 Thank you for your kind words and for playing it. :) I can understand that, humor is challenging to convey through games, at least I think so! Yeah, it would feel much better if you clicked it to throw, that does make sense. I'll keep that in mind if we do a post-jam version!

@d3vil0p3r Oops, not good. May I ask where you are located? I will add a mirror link as soon as I can. Thank you for the feedback.

@d3vil0p3r OK, great feedback, thanks. There are probably others who will have problems with that link as well.

I have added an alternative link on the game description.

If you still want to try the game, you can find that here: https://01f0.itch.io/the-pizza-lord :)

First of all, the writing text screen and the main menu are really nice looking. I restarted until I win so I guess it's a good thing. I was a bit disturbed about the 3D text above objects, they were not facing the camera. And after some restarts I knew was items to put in the fire so I launched them fast and the problem was that the camera bugged to look the fire when demanding another sacrifice.

@vincent-blot Thanks for playing! OK, I think I understand how that can happen. I'll see if I can get that fixed.

At first the game seemed a bit confusing, but after getting into it a little bit, I loved the mood, the bits of dark comedy, and the outstanding audio and graphics. While there isn't much to the gameplay itself, I really love the atmosphere overall.

I like the silly premisse :)

I think the text on the narration at the start could have a clearer and larger font to make it easier to read. Having it centered on the screen would look better too.

I got a little confused at the start, when he asks for something cold. I immediately went to the fridge and spent some time trying to open it.

@ice-maker Thanks for playing and for the kind words. :)

@kloscunha Thanks for the feedback! We actually had a hard time determining how to place the font, and I guess we never nailed it. ;D Interesting to see how you thought about the fridge. I love those "gut feeling"/"first impression" thoughts. In retrospect, I wish we've just left it open and put an interactable object there. :)

Hey, cool game dude! :call_me: :pizza: Did not know there was a Pizza Devil/Demon, but now i know. I have been educated. It also kind of makes sense.

The second fixed version is much more playable, the first was a bit too dark. For me the humor works great. But then, people tell me constantly my humor sucks so... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I loved the atmosphere and I ofc expected more horror, more scares. The mood was there.

Regarding the controls I also agree, took me a bit of time to understand that I had to hold it down to hold it. :) My first move was also the fridge for the cold stuff. But that's all in the game! Controls worked nicely and the music was fitting. I have to say your demon sound voice was cooler than mine. :sob:

Nice art and effects all-around, I can tell you are pros in the area. Sure a few quirks (text on objects, font in narrating screen) but a solid entry! Congrats!

I agree with the comments, largest game evva on a LD? Is there some kind of price for this, I think you should have it then! :medal:

I really enjoyed that experience. Thank you!

I was kinda under the impression that there's gonna be a demonic person sitting at a table to whom i would deliver things, and I assumed picking items up wouldn't require me to HOLD the mouse buttons, so I was kinda confused for a couple minutes there.

After i figured it out, though, I just wanted it to keep going! Whimsical horror is a rarity I really love and you nailed it here. Well done!

Cheers!

@rolle Glad you liked it! Oh the Pizza Devil is very real indeed. I don't even dare to order pizza anymore. But now that I think about it, I ate one during this jam.. Dammit, he got me again.

Hahah, I can't take credit for the voice, that was @Alexaur's work. Maybe you can start a black metal band together? ;D

I would glady accept a price for it, I wish that you could still give awards in Ludum Dare. I was actually going to give you a "Game with most exploding priests" award. :)

Thank you for playing!

@icegold So happy to hear you enjoyed it. :)

Interesting to hear your thoughts about that prologue, we switched between different stories during development so maybe we made it a bit confusing. :)

The mouse hold thing is definitely something we're going to do different the next time as you're not the first to mention it. :D

Whimsical horror.. I like the sound of that genre. :D

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Graphics and sounds are awesome! The demands don't make much sense to me, I'd preferred if it was just a bit less of trial and error. But non the less the game is pretty well made! Great job!

Very satanic game with very very good graphics. The Solutions to the riddles seemed just a little abitrary to me. I mean, the leather whip, seriously? But I liked it anyway. Great Job!

the mood is quite nice and also a funny story at the start. The sacrifices sometimes were a bit try and error. I think it would have been nicer, if there wasn't the obviouse choices like the utensils for sharp and the candle for hot, because then the player would have been forced to think outside the box from start.

@syrok Thank you! And the same to you and your game, looks fun!

@DeadlyAlive Thanks for playing and for the feedback! We've received a lot of feedback on that part, we would probably do it a bit differently next time. :)

@rowdy3 🤘 Thanks! 🤘

@mosaic Thank you for playing and for the feedback! Haha, yeah some of the riddles are a bit lame, but that's what you get when the game creators have a bad sense of humor. 😂 🙈

@stames Awesome feedback. We actually removed a lot items that were there first to achieve what you described. But now that people have actually have played it I guess would should have removed a few more, as you said. :) Thank you for playing!

Great, great game!!
- Graphics were amazing
- Gameplay was amazing
- Humour was amazing

This was a really clever take on the theme of "sacrifices must be made".

I don't know if this was just a MacOS problem but when I picked something up, it would get thrown away immediately. Aside from that it was brilliant. Keep up the great work!

@masterkrepta We tried to make it a little tricky to force the player to think. Judging from your comment and others, I guess a few of those worked at least! ;D Thanks for the feedback and for playing!

@henry-denny Thank you for the kind words :) No, that's how it was supposed to work (pickup + mouse button hold). But we should have gone with mouse toggle, judging from your comment and previous comments. ;D

@jk5000 Thank you! :)
