@capnat Awesome :D
@weiiswurst Haha, sorry.. We tried to limit ourselves with 2K textures and compression, but yeah, it is what it is I guess. :)
The atmosphere is good and sound is good.
@piter You're right, there's a bug in the lighting and also one when loading. Working on a fix! Thank you for playing.
@adriagonzalez Thank you for trying it out. OK, I will take a look, that's probably a CanvasScaler issue.
@jdelaay025johnd1788 Thank you for your kind words and for playing it. :) I can understand that, humor is challenging to convey through games, at least I think so! Yeah, it would feel much better if you clicked it to throw, that does make sense. I'll keep that in mind if we do a post-jam version!
@d3vil0p3r Oops, not good. May I ask where you are located? I will add a mirror link as soon as I can. Thank you for the feedback.
I have added an alternative link on the game description.
If you still want to try the game, you can find that here: https://01f0.itch.io/the-pizza-lord :)
@vincent-blot Thanks for playing! OK, I think I understand how that can happen. I'll see if I can get that fixed.
I think the text on the narration at the start could have a clearer and larger font to make it easier to read. Having it centered on the screen would look better too.
I got a little confused at the start, when he asks for something cold. I immediately went to the fridge and spent some time trying to open it.
@kloscunha Thanks for the feedback! We actually had a hard time determining how to place the font, and I guess we never nailed it. ;D Interesting to see how you thought about the fridge. I love those "gut feeling"/"first impression" thoughts. In retrospect, I wish we've just left it open and put an interactable object there. :)
The second fixed version is much more playable, the first was a bit too dark. For me the humor works great. But then, people tell me constantly my humor sucks so... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I loved the atmosphere and I ofc expected more horror, more scares. The mood was there.
Regarding the controls I also agree, took me a bit of time to understand that I had to hold it down to hold it. :) My first move was also the fridge for the cold stuff. But that's all in the game! Controls worked nicely and the music was fitting. I have to say your demon sound voice was cooler than mine. :sob:
Nice art and effects all-around, I can tell you are pros in the area. Sure a few quirks (text on objects, font in narrating screen) but a solid entry! Congrats!
I agree with the comments, largest game evva on a LD? Is there some kind of price for this, I think you should have it then! :medal: :wink:
I was kinda under the impression that there's gonna be a demonic person sitting at a table to whom i would deliver things, and I assumed picking items up wouldn't require me to HOLD the mouse buttons, so I was kinda confused for a couple minutes there.
After i figured it out, though, I just wanted it to keep going! Whimsical horror is a rarity I really love and you nailed it here. Well done!
Cheers!
Hahah, I can't take credit for the voice, that was @Alexaur's work. Maybe you can start a black metal band together? ;D
I would glady accept a price for it, I wish that you could still give awards in Ludum Dare. I was actually going to give you a "Game with most exploding priests" award. :)
Thank you for playing!
Interesting to hear your thoughts about that prologue, we switched between different stories during development so maybe we made it a bit confusing. :)
The mouse hold thing is definitely something we're going to do different the next time as you're not the first to mention it. :D
Whimsical horror.. I like the sound of that genre. :D
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! :thumbsup:
Hail SATAN
@DeadlyAlive Thanks for playing and for the feedback! We've received a lot of feedback on that part, we would probably do it a bit differently next time. :)
@rowdy3 🤘 Thanks! 🤘
@mosaic Thank you for playing and for the feedback! Haha, yeah some of the riddles are a bit lame, but that's what you get when the game creators have a bad sense of humor. 😂 🙈
@stames Awesome feedback. We actually removed a lot items that were there first to achieve what you described. But now that people have actually have played it I guess would should have removed a few more, as you said. :) Thank you for playing!
- Graphics were amazing
- Gameplay was amazing
- Humour was amazing
This was a really clever take on the theme of "sacrifices must be made".
I don't know if this was just a MacOS problem but when I picked something up, it would get thrown away immediately. Aside from that it was brilliant. Keep up the great work!
@henry-denny Thank you for the kind words :) No, that's how it was supposed to work (pickup + mouse button hold). But we should have gone with mouse toggle, judging from your comment and previous comments. ;D
@jk5000 Thank you! :)
