I think the game could be more fun if it take a more skill to be able to get to another world, then exploration would feel like a reward :D
With more time, I would have added enemies, keys+doors, items to collect such as stars for score and buffs to activate multijump...
But 48h're short!
However, given the 48 hour time frame, what you did is already pretty good. Well done!
I think you could improve by using some particles on the landing and jumping. I really missed some king of quick tutorial for the player to learn the controls, the jump is not quite there in game feel terms. But that's what a gameJam is all about.
One last thing, background music could do magic in this kind of chill games. Great job !
- The audio works well at a lower volume. I had my speakers cranked up from another game, and the bursts at higher volume were a bit squeaky. My suggestion would be to polish the FX to make them a bit more soft and space-like.
- The player's icon is cute and the solar system exploration via jump mechanic is fun.
Overall this is an incredibly relaxing game and a good use of the theme!
It's a fun game/toy - as others said, it really could use more gameplay. Not necessarily content - just a challenge or obstacle to overcome.
For example, and to be constructive - you could limit the amount of jumps a player can do in the stage in total, the counter is already there.
That way, it would quickly become a puzzle - you've got 50 jumps total, visit all the planets, go!
Jumps could be more pronounced, or explained in the beginning not to confuse new players (I didn't have trouble, but I can see that others did)
That's the only hting I'm missing here, other than that it's fun and audiovisually pleasing, at least for me.
Cheers, and stay awesome!
