Sacrificial City by Glassar

Sacrificial city is a game where you build a city under the watchful gaze of the volcano god. You must appease this cruel god by sacrificing captives or your own population to keep your Doom level from geting to low. But you can also buy powerful gifts with Doom. To get captives and other resources you may raid other settlements. Your population grows when you have food, more food and they grow faster. And they die when you don't have it.

5 / 5 dude!
PS: Change the music. please.
I didn't mind the simple graphics so much, but the UI could have definitely used some work. While the font is nice, a simpler one for the lengthy parts(ie. the instructions) may work better. Music is repetitive, but the sound effects were a decent attempt. Overall, still a great entry, especially for one person.
Though I felt like there either was a cap on the rate of the doom goind down or that the rate increased too slowly. Personally I would find it nice if the rate the doom deteriorates would go up infinetly or exponentially, so that the player would eventually be "forced" to lose.
I feel with the goal of the game being surviving as long as possible it would create more urgency if it was harder to manage the doom. Though I guess that is just balancing.
I lost my first playthrough due to food shortage, but second game I managed to go "infinite" due to being able to win against the city consistently and refilling military pretty quickly.
My only gripe with the resource management side of the game is that once a temple has been built, stone seems hardly useful anymore, but other than that, I had fun balancing my economy.
And yes for the jam its probably more important to have it as accessible as possible. Like I said only a minor point. Still a good game.
Love the art style - and what a brilliant concept
