Overcharged by Cryovr
Genres: Stealth + Bullet-Hell
//README//

The core objective (at least at the start of the game) is to collect all CHARGES scattered around the planet, avoiding being spotted by patrolling enemies. Stay out of enemy lines of sight and you should be well on your way, remember you are very fragile in comparison to them. Once you collected enough charges to fill up your OVERCHARGE meter (blue meter) your stats will be boosted overwhelmingly, and so will be the amount of enemies bullets coming your way.

//Important Notes to Keep in Mind// - You can (and should) use your projectiles to propel you forward (as a form of rocket-jump) for maximum mobility. - The WHITE meter over your head is your health, the BLUE is your overcharge. - You can MELEE enemies while they are not looking at you for an instant stealthy kill.
OVERCHARGED stats: - 4x Damage. - 0.1x Damage Taken. - 2x Projectile Blast Radius. - 2x Projectile Blast Force. - 1.5x Projectile Speed. - 1.5x Melee Range.
//Controls// - use WASD to walk around the planet. - SPACE = jump. - MOUSE1 to shoot. - MOUSE2 or LSHIFT to MELEE.

I Used Unity, Blender, Photoshop and Illustrator to make this mess.
that's it! :3

i like how it's broken up very different gameplay sequences but the map feels the same. rocket jumping around to move while fighting the flying enemies was super fun
great job with this!
It's very pretty, though.
I did find the movement a bit awkward at first, but it isn't too hard to get used to after a while.
Anyway awesome work!
I really liked the shooting and fighting of the game.
The rocket jumping was a bit confusing in the start. I expected it to be jumping when i shot a bullet. Not when it hit the ground. The graphics are simple but really well done, one of the best parts of your game. I really miss some sound effects on the shooting and hitting on enemies. I don't really see the stealth and the theme in the game. :fox:
The only cons I can think of is that the "stealh" part of the game almost feel non-existant
Thanks a ton for the quality feedback, it does help a lot. i'm glad a lot of you seem to like the aesthetics. i'll definitely experiment further with the Shader work i did during the weekend, it all indeed boils down to filters and faces. Additionally, i'm specially glad that you also seem to like the core mechanics. I'll do a blog post addressing the inconsistencies and discrepancies with the controls that annoyed so many of you (and definitely rightfully so) plus the several aspects where the game lacked substantially. o/
great work here!
Otherwise pretty and pretty solid, if a little clunky on the movement as others have mentioned. Really dig the aesthetic.
Started very slowly and easy, and then the bullet-hell aspect of the game hit! The switch surprised me (in a positive way).
Some music and sound effects would have been nice.
Nice entry!
When I touched the final blue charge, it didn't disappear;
it triggered the switch to the next phase though, so technically I picked it up.
Just thought I should mention this.
Bugs are to be expected in a game jam.
# Pros:
* core gameplay is fun
* satisfying screen shake
* planet shaped terrain gives it a cool little twist
# Cons:
* Janky physics, please please work on the collisions and the player movement
* Particle effects dissapeared too abruptly, they should fade or shrink or something
* Poor implementation of stealth
Either way, awesome job for completing the game for LD, that's more than most people can say ;) Also I really appreciate the massive amount of games you've played and rated!

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.
