Hello! Here is our game (me & @skjoke) for ld39.

He is far that what we wanted but the game is playable. We try to make a better postjam version!

Story

You can build your ship to try to cross the desert. The goal is to reach the oasis.

The editor works, launching works and even flying works, but flight is most certainly the weakest link here.

I expected the plane to control as a glider. A glider gradually loses altitude. To gain altitude you need to pitch up, which drains speed due to air drag. That's when you'd use the thruster to gain more speed.

Here it seems that speed never goes down, so there's little need to use the thruster. Pitching also feels very unnatural, as if gravity didn't exist.

Unity Standard Assets has decent physics based airplane controllers, you should take a look at those.

Solid concept, doesn't follow the laws of physics. Ok job with the rest.

@HuvaaKoodia Yeah, I tried to make a glider with physics but it was more complicated than expected especially with the little time I had. Thank you for the feedback! I take note for the next improvements.

At first your game reminded me of Race the sun so I was intrigued! The gameplay is quite similar so it works just fine, the controls are a bit harsh but we get used to it! I was really confused with the laws of physics too but if you polish your game after the jam you could create a really fun game :) good luck

I could not find any button to proceed to launching pad. I just edited my plane but I never got to fly it :( Graphics seems cool though.

Building the plane was pretty cool and the graphics were quite good too. Flying the plane was a little difficult and sterring seemed al ittle hard. Also I accidentally made the plane in your screenshot, feels like it's the only plane you could really make with the paerts available. However, it's a very good proof of concept.

Also, I believe you want to rename your game to "Through the Desert", not "Trough the Desert" :)

I like the graphics and the concept. The controls are ok. I don't like that I have no idea what each part does. Should I add more engines? More wings? What is the difference of the wings?

The game is good, I think there are some problems with collisions, in one part left the floor and did not die

This is a very interesting concept and nice graphics! It's quite rough on the edges for now, there's not really that much point in trying any other design other than the most basic one, and it's enough to get you all the way to the Oasis. The vehicle is rather cumbersome, but I like the feel of gliding even if it doesn't really follow the law of physics.

There's certainly potential here, I like building stuff, especially if they're interactive like vehicles. Good job!

Neat concept. I especially like games where you can create things--especially things that fly! I had a weird bug with the builder where items attached to a fuselage piece would be flipped. Otherwise, it seemed well made. Good work!

I like idea but execution feels really sloppy. Physics are odd, you can zoom out of the “hangar”, desert has some weird blobs in. Lack music or at least some kind of ambience kills the atmosphere. Default Unity font and UI graphics have too little padding, Go-button is almost hidden. There is great idea here, just needs lots more work.

I love the idea, the creation process reminds me of kerbal space program. Graphics were nice and the launching was fun. Flight was a bit awkward, but I got used to it. Would love to see a post-jam version of this, the idea is fascinating and I'm sure it would be a great game if given the love it deserves. Great work!

I liked the idea after reading the description, but the end product lacks a lot of things.

One hint - don't use the default UI sprites and fonts. Draw your own ones and get some free font. It takes like 15 minutes, but improves the graphical quality of the game A LOT.

Other than that, the obvious issues:

- Not way to go back to building hangar without crashing, and ESC quits the game alltogether
- Flyings physics feel weird
- No audio makes the game really dull
- No fog/whatever on the sides, or some "fade" into skybox makes feels weird
- On FullHD, the GUI is too streched out, and it'S really hard to see the GO button
- No showing what's chosen in the editor

Nice graphics and music. The concept is great but the product feels unfinished and not a game. Good models though. Just try making your own fonts etc.

Was fun that you got to build your ship at the start before beginning. Would be nice if the movement was tightened a bit so you'd get more feedback as you fly but it's a good start. The ship colours also worked well in the setting.
