Much to loot about Nothing by pinkemma

[raw]
made by pinkemma for LD 40 (COMPO)

Who don't love lootboxes? Exactly, no-one. screenie.png

In Much to loot about Nothing you, the player, must navigate the map, picking up E(asy) A(ccess) Coins (TM) and Lootboxes. The goal is simple. Get as many coins and lootboxes as possible.

Between levels coins can be spent on opening the lootboxes (you didn't think they were free, did you?) for "bonuses" (which might not be much help at all..)

This game has a Online highscore, so come try to beat everyone else!

Windows download includes self-contained exe.

Hey, I seem to be stuck on this here level, can I send you some money to get past this? Hey?

Very topical and had a good idea behind it. Also good job on making the download java-install-independent. That's something I hadn't actually seen here yet before.

Fiendishly addictive with it's random drops it almost becomes resource management at a constant break neck pace and I love the inside humour with everything thats going on in the games industry right now :)

@captaindreamcast Yeah, my main language is Java, so I much prefer using it for these kinds of projects. But people have a strong (rightly - after the applet debacle) aversion to java, so asking for it to be installed seems like a huge hassle for playing the game. A fully packaged project makes it so much easier to run, though it ends up quite big for a very small thing.

Also, yes, I will send you custom I-WIN lootboxes for money.

I thought pizza making your saltmeter go DOWN was a little weird, but I guess it fit the general feel of the game. I loved that you made an online highscore board, that's something I've always wanted to do for LD :).
