Click to play in browser!
Game Background
You are Scooter McLooter, a wannabe outlaw trying to make a name for himself!
Your goal is to snatch all the loot in town, but your bag can only hold so much, and the more it gets, the slower you are!
To secure the loot, you'll have to toss it to your accomplice, Unreliable Eddy, who will come down the street in his wagon every once in a while.
Oh, and don't get caught by the sheriffs! They'll chase you down on-sight, but they aren't the brightest bunch.
Controls
- Arrow keys or W/S/A/D to move
- Spacebar to drop some loot if you're in a pinch
About Me:
This was my second LD. I'm a programmer by trade, so the hardest part of LD for me is the art. I hope it reads well and isn't too fugly. I'm also a very newbie guitarist, and not really musically inclined, but I managed to record 3 little original 'songs' this time, which is a first ever.

As for the bad, I did encounter a bit of clipping around doors, but nothing too evil. Also, I kind of wish those instructions were forced on me the first time I tried playing. Going in blind it was easy enough to figure out what to do, but, it would have been nice if I knew where to take my loot once I had it. Or maybe I should have just read your full LD blog entry, lol
Overall, great job!
I also liked how the (good) music changed depending on the presence of a sherif.
And LOL for the punchy animation when you get busted!
I was a bit annoyed by the drop feature, it's a bit too random ^^
I was very impressed by the music, but the sound effects (picking up loot) were a bit annoying.
Still, great fun.
Overall pretty good though, I played it till I managed to get everything.
Also, you should add some sort of indicator to show that a sheriff is chasing you. Maybe add an exclamation point on their head. The music transition is a good way to tell whether you're safe or not but I think that it'd be a nice touch.
@ohmi - You're the first person to call one of my LD games their 'favorite'! Thanks! I really like your game, Fast Frontier, I've gone back to play it twice since I rated it. If you update it with more missions, please be sure to tell me!
@automatonvx - Thanks for the compliments and feedback! Yea I definitely feel like the game needs some animations.
@fahim-faysal - Thanks for the kind words! I definitely see what you mean about adding a visual indicator for when the sheriffs start chasing you. It can be frustrating when they just sort of emerge out of a pack of civilians and nab you
@honest-dan - Thanks so much for the compliments and critique. After reading your comment, I tested it out and realized that the camera scrolls slowly whenever its against one of the boundaries (there is a physics body attached to the camera, held in check by 4 invisible walls, to keep it from showing half a blank screen). The friction caused by the camera's body sliding against the boundary boxes is what causes the slowdown. I should definitely fix this in a post-jam update. Thanks for the spot!
Anyway, fun little game, with all the boxes ticked, well done.
@kodiqi - Thanks for playing and leaving such great feedback! You're spot on about the camera (I've fixed it in a post-jam version already). The safes can be grabbed at any time, but they fill up 100% of your bag, so if you are carrying anything else, you won't pick it up. The whole 'weight' system is not explained anywhere, so that's a failing of the game for sure.
