CrewHunt by CursedEmbassy

[raw]
made by CursedEmbassy for LD 43 (JAM)

Rescue your crew so that the indigenous doesn't kill them! the idea was that if you saved them without consulting the wise one, one crew would die if you did it in the wrong order, or the wrong way. at the end, you'd have to sacrifice more crew so that the island would let you leave. a blood sacrifice or a life time prisoner.sc3.PNGscreenie 2.PNG

You should update the post with some controls.
A way to tell the player where to go will be nice as well, i got a bit lost playing and took me time to advance

I also came here for the hand-drawn graphics (Cactus Madness! was one of my favorite LD42 games). You've done a great job again with the artwork and I love the drumbeat.

One thing I wanted to point out is that I get stuck in certain parts of the game (as in the screen shot below). It's impossible to move and I have to restart the game. It seems to happen when I touch a tree in some areas.

I found a fire, a hut, a chest (locked), 2 blue haired guys (the same ones ?), but I didn't get what I should do. The sounds of the jungle and drawing are good, I like them. The collision box of the character is unexpected. I was often locked between pixel, pressing all directions to escape. More information would have been interesting.

I love the art style of this game! The blend of doodle + markers with digital lighting was excellent. The music was perfect for it too. The mood was on point! It's a good story and a fun adventure and so far, one of the more interesting games I've played yet. overall, you guys did a wonderful job! Well done!

Things to improve upon (fewer than most, actually):
Collision was a bit unexpected in some areas.
If you start moving in a direction, then simultaneously move in another, then stop moving in the first direction, the avatar doesn't change. Small detail, but I was able to basically moonwalk lol.

Really cool art. Good job. I don't think I have ever played an LD game that is all hand drawn.

Hand drawn graphics is great, but it really need more polish.More environment Objects and UI improvement would be great.Movement control and collision check are kind of buggy.

THe graphic style is awesome, I just love it. The animations however play way to fast which doesn't feel right. I also get stuck quite a lot in places which makes the game feel really glitchy.

Cool game. The art style gives it something very unique which adds to the overall very atmospheric game experience. Also the sea waves do their job there. Where the sprites hand-drawn?
