Hazardous Cleanup by owl and jackalope
Hazardous Cleanup has players fulfilling the desires of a Duke. They must clean up the spikes that were left in his new castle from the previous occupant. The problem is that the spikes can't be removed. They can only be used. The player guides a collection of unassuming peasants to their demises so that the castle might be safe for the Duke and his family.
The peasants move with A-D and jump with space. To add new peasants (when available) press W or S to remove them again. The peasants work together as a unit. It's important because some spikes cannot be reached alone.

Peasants can leave their stack to work towards multiple goals. Sometimes the bodies of old friends can be used as a way to keep moving forward. The game is all about knowing when to sacrifice your friends to get to where you are going.

Luckily its not all bad for you and the peasants. For a job well done, the Duke's always enthusiastic and bright spirited nature points out the lighter side of things.

This is my first Game Jam, and I've had an absolutely great time. Unfortunately work calls tomorrow so this is far as I take things. I look forward to getting feedback and playing all of your games as well!
If this experience has taught me anything it's that designing compelling levels is hard and I'm not an artist. For more information about my process, check out this quick post mortem about the project. https://youtu.be/248mYJpBMec

Controls were a bit floaty for my taste, but very servicable. It took some work to get the muscle memory down, but I'm honestly now sure how I'd do it any differently.
It wasn't immediately clear to me I didn't always need to kill *all* of the peasants.
The graphics were lovely! Felt like a more whimsical version of Binding of Isaac. It fit the theme quite well.
Overall nice entry. I look forward to seeing if you do anything with it post jam.
