I love the concept and the art style presents the game really well. I especially love the spacedust particle that appears and the procedural solar system generation is done brilliantly. However, it took me a short while to work out what to do as there isn't really an in-depth tutorial. Given more time, this game could become something fantastic.

The point is the colonise as many planets as possible, I wanted to make the goal more in-depth but I was out of time and was hoping the PG would make up for it, I always find myself wondering what might be in the next system...

A bunch of colliding planets? A strange planet? etc.

Thanks for your feeback though :D

Enjoyed this. The planets look great and it's an interesting blend of colonization and exploration. I think I saw one of my planets blow up another one though! heh

Beautiful graphics and props for procedural generation. The game-play was little confusing probably because the UI could use some love. Also just spamming things seemed to work for me.

5.0 OVERALL! Very nice game. One issue, the planets closer to the sun, has to orbit faster than the planets not as close to the sun. Loved the motion blur when you change planets! Great! Can't believe you made it in 2 days!!!!

I love the concept. It is extremely fun and addictive. I think this should become a bigger game with more features, maybe a web game so many people can register and play, maybe add like multiplayer or something. I really loved it 10/10. Had to quit 10 minutes in so I don't get addicted :yum:

Loved the concept! It's something like a sandbox-management game, and the procedural touch is a bless.

Thanks for working in this little gem!

I'll improve the camera (after a while the camera circles can give motion sickess and become a little unpleasant, especially in full screen)

As @listonos the UI needs some work, I coudln't figure out exactly what to do so I ended up basking in the glory of procedural generation. Very well done for building that during the Compo. With some polish on the presentation it could be a very fun space management game. Also, an option to turn off motion blur would be very much appreciated.

I had to cut back a lot, I put most of my time in to the code, the UI could defo use some re-working, and as I finished for the compo, I had the idea of better gameplay but had 0 time to do any of it.

Thanks for playing this though, I really appriciate it : D

This game is too good for a game jam. So much effort was clearly put into it and deserves to get a high overall score. Took me about five minutes to realise that I had to click Credits and Information where a RED ARROW WAS POINTING. I'm such an idiot and this is such a good game.

Interesting... Maybe with a sweet music of those kind of "deep space" musics it could be awesome ^^ I think the idea is good and the graphics too, but maybe you should make the gameplay a little harder, because I just pressed some buttons and do not really understood what I did (herrr, yes, I colonised and terraformed planets, but well..). I notice the performance of doing solar systems though ^^

Cool overall game :) Keep Coding :)

13. Aug 2018 · 12:56 UTC
AAHHHH I got it. The cursor is offseted by 50%. So the cursor is not in the center of the image, but actually -50%/-50% of the image! when I click using the top left corner of the image as cursor reference point, I can click the buttons and I am in the game :D same glitch for rest of UI though, also planets and stuff can only be clicked using the top left of the image as cursor point.

@cookiengineer @edgelord working on the WebGL version for simplicity, I hate downloading things so I want it to be as streamline as possible for all.

I've fixed the cursor and an issue with the dynamic actions menu, and I think some scaling issues.

Sorry for the inconvenience, Unity for some reason offsetted the cursor in the Editor which is why I did that :grinning:

Hm. I like the procedural generation, but I don't get warm with the game. The user interface often doesn't react to clicks, the game mechanics are unclear to me, and I couldn't find the challenge. It's unclear what happens when terraforming, it's unclear what happens when a population limit is reached, and what the options will do.

Ah, I just read that the clicks were due to an offset - that makes sense!
🎤 BigJigglyProductions__
14. Aug 2018 · 11:38 UTC
@djibess the Web version ran fine for myself, though I did only one test which worked fine, I'll test it again, though I do HIGHLY recommend downloading a build.

@mshopf I had to cut features a lot, and I published it with 8 minutes of the compo left...Terraforming does what it does in real life, makes the planet habitable for life, which would allow you to colonise it.

This is a really cool game! I thought that the concept was well executed, but could have been better if there was a better indication of human population (e.g. a warning message popping up on screen when the population is low.) Sound effects could have hugely enhanced the atmosphere and mood of the game too. I loved the art, and the glowing effects that emitted off of each planet looked very pretty! Overall a pretty great game, good job! :)

It is a small colonising simulator. It works and looks fine, but it doesn't feel like a finished game. Sure, it has some cool features like terraforming, but the UI is kinda messy and it's a bit hard to keep track of everything that's happening. Ok entry, still needs a lot of polishing.

I really like the planet generation; they all looked really cool! I feel the name generation could be improved a bit though..

I'd recommend you to get music for other times (even if they're from opengameart); while you wouldn't get an audio score, a well-chosen music can help in other areas of the game such as the mood, flow, etc. Also the people at opengameart would be super happy to know their music was used on a game as nice-looking as yours!

I think it's a great idea, and you managed to make it procedurally look *really* nice; it showcases your strengths in both art and code. Well done!

I am impressed by this, and I am excited to see where it will go. The compo version does lack some of the things to make it a full and proper game, however. It really needs some audio, a UI that scales with the screen size, and a better explanation of what's going on. I know this is stuff you're working on, however. I gave this game some of my best ratings so far, including my first five on innovation. It's not every day someone comes up with something this clever and unique. Well done!

This game looks really good. It's impressive that you added procedural generation into it. The interface is pretty cool too. But I really don't get what is going on. Maybe if there were some tool tips giving hints on what to do next or showing that you made progress. Does M500 mean warping to another solar system? Also is there no sounds? I think some good music and sound effects would be good for this game.

Great job on your entry. It made me click click click away. It's a great time killer which a lot of people unconsciously like. Thanks for sharing.

The planers and solar systems look pretty with the procedural generation. I'm not sure what is happening with each click though, there should be some animation or indication to show what each action taken does. Also not sure what it takes to go to the next solar system as well although I managed to visit a few. Definitely not a No Man's Sky but still pretty ambitious for a game jam. Think it would benefit from having a view of the entire star system rather than individual planets. Some sound effects and ambient music would enhance this much more.
