Mercenary Management Simulator 2020 by Marcus Dubreuil

Summary
You are now the manager of a team of mercenaries. America’s new favorite pastime is watching mercenaries off each other in the arena. Seeing as war profiting is really in these days, it’s your job to recruit some desperate “athletes” and lead them on the field to their almost certain demise for our entertainment and your wallet. Your team earns money from bloodshed, so make sure there’s plenty of that. You may use your funds to recruit enemies during matches. And remember, it’s not about survival, it’s about your bank account!
Controls:
- WASD or Arrow keys to move the camera around.
- Left click to select players and tiles.

Gameplay
- These instructions are not necessary to understand the game but are here for reference.
- Before battle, buy some mercenaries (click the cards) and then press "play".
- After selecting a team member:
- Click a highlighted tile to move your character to that position.
- Blue highlighted tiles are in walking range so you can both walk and shoot in one turn.
- Green highlighted tiles are in sprinting range so you can only run, not shoot.
- How to attack:
- Hover over an enemy player to see your cone of fire with respect to them. If you see nothing, you have no line of sight to that player.
- If you see your cone of fire, you can click the enemy to begin the attack sequence.
- Click anywhere to try and land your shot in the red area to deal damage. The closer you are to the center of the red zone, the more damage you'll output.
- How to purchase enemy players:
- During your turn, you may purchase enemy players by selecting them and pressing the purchase button in the top-left menu. Your balance is displayed at the bottom-left of the screen.
- You retain your surviving team members between battles.
Changelog (bug fixes post-submission, no new features as that's not allowed)
- Fixed "Your Turn" popping up behind "Victory!".
- Made it so you can't purchase more players than the maximum amount of players.
- Fixed old dead characters still remaining in the "physics" engine.
- Fixed floating names still appearing for dead players.
- Fixed cone of fire occasionally being off after purchasing enemy players.

A pity that there is no sound.
Art style on point and solid gameplay. Maybe the accuracy mechanics is a little too simple. It's pretty hard to screw up.
Some nitpicking:
You should probably add a delay before showing "Enemy Turn" overlay. Right now it's difficult to see how much damage you've done. Having a delay there will let you see the damage indicator animate
Hope you'll keep working on this! :)
I felt that when enemies stood right next to me they should've hit me because the red area was very big.
Sometimes I wanted to end my turn and not use all of my units movements but I had to move them one tile in order to end my turn.
Overall, wonderful job!
Seriously though guys what a game, I was getting emotionally invested trying to keep the weakest guy on my team from dying hahaha
All it needs now is a killer soundtrack and some new skins for the dudes.
I noticed a glitch where the UI wouldn't show the status of the currently selected character, but would get stuck on the enemy's character.
Pretty cool work!
