Toaster Town by Daffodil Ohio

[raw]
made by Daffodil Ohio for LD 38 (JAM)

screnshot.pngTown at the bottom of a toaster, so every now and again things get VERY HOT and everyone gets flung wildly into the air. The townspeople – who are very crispy and also THRILLSEEKERS – love it here.

I came, I saw, I popped, I felt weirded out. Their little 'pleasure' noises created a very strange vibe. I wasn't sure what to do apart from spam space bar for a bit. I'm guessing the aim was to create a short weird little experience if so that worked :)

Interesting little atmospheric experience with little toaster people making toaster noises.

Quite unsure of what to do, I did press space a bunch though. A strange one for sure!

Oh wow thanks so much for all your comments! This was my first game jam and I wasted a LOT of time figuring out how to do gravity, but it's awesome that I got to send you all to a weird toaster place for a little bit. Thanks for playing!

I was intrigued by the hearts on the top-right. What a little bug burning hell :D The space bar action was fun!

As soon as I saw the graphics I knew I wanted to play this game.

But I am a little unsure if I played it right to be fair. But heeey thanks for the toaster noices!

There was sadly not much to this game, but I loved the the scroll-wheel gimmick though.
If you added some music I would not doubt a second to bounce those characters all day long!

Have an awesome day, and hope to see you in the next jam with something bigger maybe! ;)

An interesting little 'experience' to say the least. I spent a while looking for more gameplay. I think I clicked on just about everything.

Your description alone hits the humor category pretty hard for me "Thrillseekers" made me actually laugh.

Neat little thing you have here!

The gameplay is only toast the people of toastown !? Eheheheheh I like the graphics of the game, especially the fire effect! ^^

The graphics were spot on and amusing but it didn't really feel like a game.

One suggestion for next time: and this goes for everyone that submitted something, (including myself). Think about "Why would the player want to play this?" and "Why should the player care?" and "How can I keep the player engaged and give them real depth of gameplay?"
