Out of Power by Ctrlphreak
So this is my first ever Ludum Dare, and I've actually managed to make a basic but essentially complete game even if the balance is a little screwy (I know the balance is off, but I've run out of time to fix it basically).
One thing to note - windows defender doesn't seem to like running the game - you can allow it anyway, but I have literally no idea how to fix this :(
So, when the game starts up and you get past the splash screen, you'll see something like this:
Those light bulb things are the cards you need to click on. Hopefully the rest of the UI is pretty self-explanatory. The only thing that isn't particularly clear is where you need to click in order to build/scrap things in the respective menus. You need to click on the picture of the plant you want to work with (see the following ms paint masterpiece):

I hope people like what's there - I've had a ton of fun making this, and I've got a lot of ideas for how to improve / adjust it - e.g. different "decks" of cards, more events, "game polish" - difficulty settings etc, actual graphics that don't suck (programmer art - yey! Although I must admit I've gotten a LOT better at pixel art over the course of this jam, so that's a plus) and so on. Still, not bad for < 72 hours work.
Bonus points if you can spot all the references. There's a bunch of music and pop culture ones as well as some general nerdy ones...
When's the next LD? I can't wait!

Appart of the "more and different cards" I think that this game needs improvements in two fields:
1. A better UI that highlight better the important stats.
2. List the concrete effect of the cards. The descriptions are funny and add to the mood of the game, but a technical description apart will add a lot.
