really fun gameplay, the controls feel natural and polished. hitting enemies also feels satisfying. the style is a nice emulation of early games, while still being easily readable.

I LOVE the graphics.

The gameplay feels very retro, which is also a bonus imo!

The controls are predictable, and the importance of this point cannot be overstated. Great!

It's very good that you have checkpoints along the way, I died a lot. :-D

If I had to suggest things to change/improve, one thing would probably be the attack rates of the bosses. I found the bosses to be a bit frustrating because I couldn't find opportunities to get in attacks of my own.

Fighting the same enemies over and over again did get to be a bit repetitive. I just found myself running past them a lot.

Overall, GREAT Ludum Dare entry! Thank you very much for sharing! =)

It's pretty hard to beat that bugs :) I like simple pixel art graphics, also oldschool soundtrack sounds very fit into the game.

Fun and simple game, with retro art. I just found that the enemies were a bit repetitive, but overall good work

The controls are really good, although I would have preferred a different key layout. Overall it felt really polished and it has a nice flow to it. Running from enemies was most often more effective than fighting them. I really enjoyed playing it.

That's a very polished game. Feels good playing it, though the key used to play aren't the most obvious choice.

The controls were very well done, and the game felt extremely polished. I'd say it was definitely 'Zeldalike' as the name of the window suggests, lol.
I'd give this game a solid 8/10

Simple and fun. Not very innovative, except for the well fleshed out energy/time mechanics. I really like the different abilities and how they use and refill the power bar.

The bosses could have sped up as they lost health as it becomes trivial dodging their predictable attack patterns after a few goes. More (random) variation in their shooting and movement arcs would have amped up the difficulty too.

There are a few issues with the energy recharge stations/checkpoints. At times walking back to a previous checkpoint resets the current progress, for instance respawning a boss or blocking a path. Not a big deal, just odd.

Good work!
