Fruit Blast by Bibicio

Take charge of a group of fruit astronauts that want to reach planet Fruit Loops, where all the other cool fruits live, of course.
Try to reach the highest altitude you can, and collect coins on the way to buy upgrades for your ship and crew!

If you find yourself low on fuel, don't worry! The rocket is powered by organic matter! In other words, fruit juice! Good thing you brought some of your fruit astronauts along huh?

Controls: - Tap/click left and right sides of the screen to move the ship (if using a keyboard, A/D or Left/Right arrow also work) - Tap/click Blend (or press space) to transform a fruit into fuel!
I made the code, art and music of this game using Unity, Krita and LMMS respectively. I also used SFXR to generate sound effects.
This was my first time doing the Compo, and it was extremely fun (and exhausting). Will participate again in the future :D

For better controls, you should not split the screen in 2, but doing it based on the position of the spaceship.
My biggest problem with the game is that I feel like the sacrificing mechanic just functions like a simple fuel refill, it might have been fun if by sacrificing your crew you also lose something mechanically. Like maybe if there were enemies you could have one crew member that can shoot and if you sacrifice him for fuel you lose the ability to shoot, or something similar.
But I understand that that might be too much to ask for in 48 hours, still very well made!
Maybe some obstacles to dodge would have made the game even better.
Small and fun game. Very nice.
