Running from the Mob by Adam Saudagar

Description
After failing a deal with the mob, your only hope is to make a bet with crazy (rich) Carl. "I’m gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse,” he says. “You’re fast, right? Well, I bet you a million dollars you can't run out of space. Like, actual space. Like, space and time kinda deal, y’know!"
At first you refuse, but then the mob's henchmen start to chase you. If you do it, you get a million smackers -- but if you don’t, the mob gets you. Might as well go for gold...Carl’s gold, that is!

How to play:
- Press [SPACE] to not die
- Hold [SPACE] to not die even longer

- Shield (keeps you from sleeping with the fishes)
- Nuke...No explanation needed
Team:
- RIPjoker (Programmer)

There were some feedback missing for pickups and damage and so on. Would have been a nice addition.
Cute graphics and nice parallax effect.
Would have liked some more content and variation. Maybe something dangerous in the air so I had to adjust my jumps and glides a little bit more.
But well done for a game jam game!
as for damage, I though the soundfx would suffice so I didn't do anything, should have put the red flash for damage feedback
About graphics and parallax, that was awesome work of Gigahood and Iria, amazing artists
for the content, originally we planned for 3 levels (land, water space), but wasn't able to make them as we opt to polish the first level instead so there wasn't any time left.
dangerous things in air was going to be in the upcoming lvls which we didn't get the time to make
thanks for the review
The voice acting is great, and I had a pretty good time playing it. I think there should be a check to stop the grunts talking over each other, and I noticed a bit of shaking in the main character at high speed. Other then that it's a great experience.
are you the official planet games?
thanks for the review
About the shaking of main character, that is to be expected, when a guy is running so fast (jokes apart, we did notice it while play testing but we opted to keep it in and call it a feature, lol)
At high speed, the game becomes a bit painful for the eyes and it's not like you can really control anything
Also I have the feeling that half of the screen is not used at all. Would be great to have some flying obstacles and even a lifebar or something to set a Game Over condition, because here you can't really lose, right ?
originally we planed to make more levels but we didn't get the time to do so
and as for high speed, its easy if you play with strategy its unlike other infinite runners where you can just dodge when an obstacle comes, in this you will have to come up with a good strategy to win.
The graphics are basic but functional, and have at least two of my pet peeves:
* Grey washing - not that much, as only the road and pavement is that grey, but it irks me because you did well in having more colourful backdrops outside of the road.
* Scaling assets using values with decimals - it distorts sprites by sometimes making an element 1 pixel wide, sometimes 2 pixels (or more, depending on how much bigger you make things).
I also noticed some of the buildings have a little gap between them. What I do appreciate in the graphics is the clear colour differences between upgrades and objects. The audio is quite good. Nice use of atmospheric city sounds, good footsteps, fun voiceovers, etc.
All in all, without that much gameplay to the game, I was still entertained for quite some time. It's a fun, charming entry.
Please do check my game maybe you’ll like it and leave some feedback.
