Really like the concept, fits the theme perfectly! Suggesting some changes: make fire not collide with fireboy, and make the final bossfight more obvious. (had some issues with figuring out how to hurt him)
Like the camera control but I would lower it a little to increase the difficulty and to balance it, add an arrow pointing straight to the boss. This is subjective though. Nice Job!

Out of my way, Icecube! :fire:

Cute game :) I like the concept of losing life to open doors/kill enemies, but it would have been better to design the level such as it's doable without killing much ice cubes.

Some remarks: the fireball isn't centered so it's hard to aim ice cubes. And you can wall jump pretty easily, the game becomes simpler when you can just walk on walls :joy:

Nice game, but i think its pretty weird that you can go over the wall when you are jumping.

Really cool for a first game, some audio make me laugh so hard ^^ Why does Fireboy have that alpha male voice ? Great entry anyway, good job !

Pretty good for a first game. It was hard for me to tell how to beat the boss. Was touching it enough? If so, I think since the game was so short it would've been cool to make the boss require 5 hits to kill, so you have to keep playing until your good enough to make it to the boss with 5 flames left. Or some equivalent idea to make the boss feel special. Good job!

Hi Christiano, I downloaded and played fireboy! Well done on completing your first game! It hangs together well. I was so determined to reach the end but got overpowered by too many ice cubes at the end. Nice addictive game, well done.

I like the style of the game and the sounds! It's a bit hard to aim ice cubes sometimes, but the idea is really neat and suits the theme very good!

RIP fireboy. Why does this game have a jump button? The only use i found for it was to climb the walls you're supposed to flame, allowing me to skip the entire game.

@thomas-lacroix

Hello Thomas!

Thanks for your recomendations!
I realy had not seen that I could climb and walk on the walls, I realy have to improve this in the gameplay!
And the fireball shoot dont be in the center, its on purpose I think its some diferent to convencional.

@theboss12

Hi!
When I was planning the game, I had decided that Fireboy's moves would be to jump and shoot. And I did not realize that I would have to cross walls jumping ... lol

So in the next game I'm going to improve on that! Thanks for your observation!

Hey ! Great game, it's simple and efficient. Took a bit of time to figure out that shooting a flame lowered my health, but when I got it it was a fun game to play :)

@roolow Thanks for your recomention for the final boss!
This one for me was really my first game, in which I used everything I knew.
And on the way to complete I had to learn many "easy" things, but necessary, for example to make a start screen, publish the game etc ...
Thank you very much for your comments, they will be very useful in the next game!

I love the theme, fire and ice is super easy to understand and lends itself well to "sacrifice." Since you mentioned you were a beginner, some things to look out for in future projects:

-Holding down forward and sideways to run makes you run faster than either direction by itself. Normalize your movement direction before adding it to your position to keep a constant run speed in all directions.

-Restarting by pressing R didn't reset my life counter. Also, dying reset my life before repositioning and sometimes the baddies would get one last hit in between the reset and reposition, so I'd start with 7 life instead of 10. I ended up having to waste all my shots to reset for real.

-You could fix the aim feeling "off" by firing from the center instead of the arm, so from the game's perspective you're firing straight forward, but offset the graphics for the fireball so users still see it coming from the hand.

Still a really good entry, you should be proud! Can't wait to see your next game. :slight_smile:

@rumor

Hi Rumor !

Thanks for your recomendations! About the moves and the restart, I'm studying Python and I believe that this will make me improve the timing in the gameplay of the game. The restart of game works when your life is 0, its reset to 10, in the middle of the game this command should not work =/
So is that thanks for your tips, I really will take them into consideration in the next game, see you!

Hey man I love the game and the idea. I don't wanna sound bad but it's such a similar idea to my entrance but both done so differently. Really impressed. Would love if you could check mine out too and see how the same idea can be interpreted. Well done man. Great first entry.

The game looks pretty simple. But I really wanted to pass the labyrinth to see whats in the end. Also I really like the music in the main menu. And great big plus to carma for the Blender!

The concept is nice, it just needs more polish. The movement was a bit slow.
