Neon Ride by Andrey Voznuyk

[raw]
made by Andrey Voznuyk for LD 39 (COMPO)

This was the hardest compo to find an idea...And when it finally came to me, I've had only about 12 hours :D Now its a pretty small prototype, full of bugs in mechanics and physics :) This is not even the first level.

Controls: Arrows, R - restart

Plans: I want to continue developing this game. First thing that is necessary is improving car physics and controls. Second - more obstacles, more levels. Third - more cars...also ui, port to Android and many other interesting things :)

Nice prototype to continue developing! Well done for such a short time.

Solid game! Reminds me of the Jelly Car series from way back in the day, loved the nostalgia trip. What you have so far for a working prototype is really good, and I love that you're excited to keep working on it regardless. The game could really benefit from fun sound effects and more level variety. A little more work on it and I think you could have something ready for the app store! Awesome job!

Nice, remembered me of old mobile games, BMX, or something like that :D.

I had a fun time playing this, very cool graphics. I found the controls a bit confusing at first, so maybe add a short tutorial or something. Other than that this was really fun

Math is hard; physics is difficult.

+++ The wobbly, unstable physics of the car made me keep playing the game even though I was frustrated at my inability to reach the third battery. My motor skills are poor (ba-dum-dish!).
++ The headlamps and the glowing batteries combined with the dark scenery set up a good mood for the game.

-- Controlling the car made my wrists hurt. It might be gentler to players to make the car easier to control.

This was a good entry. Mad props for seeing it through to the end with only 12 hours!

Unfortunately I cannot play your game. I have no Java installed and really do not want to install it. Please consider using a technology that makes it easy to deploy on Windows for your next game.

Nice prototype of game. However the lack of music and the weird physics make it a bit frustating to play. It is a good prototype and could scalate really well nonetheless.
