Greedy Mummy II

Explore the tomb to loot it's treasures but beware of the mummies, they will come for you if you are too greedy! The more you have, the worst it is.

Look for the stairs to go deeper and you might find more treasure, or a quicker end... Remember to return to the surface sometimes to save what you already got and upgrade your stuff. Though keep in mind, risk is rewarded and if you do more levels in a row you will find even more treasures!

Try to see how much treasure you can loot and beat your friends to it on the leaderboard!

How to play:

  • Move: wasd
  • shoot: left click
  • reload: r
  • machine gun: 1
  • shotgun: 2

Enter the Tomb and loot as much as you can on coffers and mummies you kill. The more treasure you have the further the mummies will hear you and come after you. Also beware of the traps!

When you find the staircase down you have a choice. You can go back to the surface to "get some rest", this will save your score and heal you. Or you can "continue" to the next depth and will get a loot bonus for doing several levels in a row but beware as monster and loot become more numerous and dangerous with depth.

On the surface you can use the money you just looted to improve your equipment and skills at the store. Don't worry, the score is saved before you spend money so you don't loose score. You can only use what you just looted (not your whole score) and it will be set back to 0 when you go back in the tomb. So you better loot as much as you can before going back to buy a lot of upgrades! When you go back in the tomb, you will go back to the depth at which you were last, but any bonus will be rested.

Death is definitive and you will be prompted for you name to add to the leaderboard at that point.

Love the art! I like the game but i dont see the theme really integrated.

This is surprisingly fun, I could keep on playing for a couple of hours without getting bored which is pretty difficult to achieve in 3 days.

Although I don't feel the Theme presence in the game, nor humor of any kind, it was still nice to play, good job.

Really nice game :).. Maybe a little balancing would make it a bit better. The monsters are quite easy to avoid, but when you hit them, it is over immediately. I don't know if i ran into especially hard mummies. I would like the monsters to be faster and more (and becoming more faster :)) and when you hit them you do not die immediately. Nevertheless great work!!

@dawik9000 and @Wolfo Thanks for trying out the game! Unfortunately due to balancing issues the theme becomes more apparent when you reach depth 3 or 4. At that point you will start to loot much faster and quickly you aggro monster from very far. Monster are faster and stronger so it's a real challenge and makes it a lot worse.

@unfinished we are working on a post gamejam version where we will try to balance things better and put a map of some sort to help find the exit.

Nice job! For some reason the framerate was dropping like crazy on the HTML version.
I really like the leaderboard and the simplicity the game starts at! As it progresses it becomes more complex. Couldn't really see the theme at work, so maybe there was a feature I missed. I didn't get very far though.

Awesome! Great music and art. I love the visual feedback of the shooting, it reminds me of Nuclear Throne. Congrats, you´ve made a great job!

Really nice graphics and game. I agree the theme isn't that present but the game makes up for it in its level of polish really impressive for three days.

AWESOME GAME! I loved it, even though I need a minimap since I always get lost in these kinds of games. The camera was a little bit annoying at times since I wanted it to follow me closer when you run fast, ran into some spikes that I couldn't see because the character was almost off screen. GREAT WORK!

A really nice and amusing game. I have played it a while, because my gamer's basic need to collect loot is very well served. ;)
I would have played it even longer if I could turn the sound down or off (or did I miss a shot?). I died of stupidity on a trap, not because of the mummies - maybe it could have been a little more difficult to better hit the topic?
Anyway, a very nice game!

Thanks for letting me play this on stream. Many people in your team have created a very complete game within a short duration. Maybe I needed to get a few levels deeper to really appreciate the relation to the theme. Other than that, really loved it as I said on stream - it feels so good to play. Controls are crisp and responsive. Visuals all suitable and fit together well.

Thanks all for the feedback and trying the game!

@szabe yes unfortunately we have some framerate issue that stacks up with time in a game. We will try to resolve that in our future update.

@goxua was an inspiration indeed :D

@cg-fred normally the camera should move toward were your mouse is, we'll try to improve it though. The UI also hide a bit too much in our opinion.

@idinakloppstock sorry about the sound, we didn't have time to do a sound menu, but it's definitely on our checklist for the update. For the difficulty it ramps a bit too slow at the beginning unfortunately. But if you get to depth 3 or 4 and up, you will be served as you will get soooo much loot that mummies will comme runing at you and much faster from all over the map :D

@jcmonkey I think it's the death screen that comes too fast after you walk on a trap. We will make it slower in the update.

Polished and well thought out. Maybe I didn't get far enough, but how was the theme integrated?

@jelch the range in which enemies spot you grows with the amount of gold you carry. The "!" stat on the bottom right indicates the current range. We wanted to make it more obvious with feedback on the player, but didn't get the time.

Thanks @honest-dan for playing and streaming; it's such a gratifying thing to see the game we worked on beeing actually played and enjoyed! Here is the link if others want to watch https://www.twitch.tv/videos/207246702

I may have found a bug. =x
I'm playing on firefox and no other Unity WebGL game had any graphical glitches. Any idea what might be happening?

The game looks promising and I'd like to play it. Thanks for the web and Linux versions!

EDIT: Sorry, got the same bug on another Unity WebGL game. I'll be playing the Linux version.

EDIT2: You just gave us an 32 bit version, which crashes on my 64 Linux machine. I'll play the web version and look for a video to vote for the graphics.

EDIT3: Played and rated! Thanks for the Web and Linux builds and congratz on the game. One thing that nagged me, does the character continue to walk for a while before stopping after I release the walk buttons? I got the impression he didn't stop immediately.
