I, Candle by Kemal Caglar Guler

You’re a candle in a maze and you escape from a human during a blackout. In order to see through the maze you need to sacrifice yourself and light your wick with matches. But if you want to see more, you need to melt more! You can find more matches and spilled wax to gain your health back along the way.
Controls:
'E': Ignite,
'1','2','3','4': Increase your intensity while ignited,
'E' while ignited: extinguish your fire,
Have fun!!

I wish the controls were taught over a larger span of time; I had to play it a couple of times in order to understand how to properly use 1, 2, 3 and 4.
I also wish the floor was a little bit more clear in terms of contrast, sometimes I thought I could walk one way only to realize the path didn't connect.
I really did like the idea though! The candle was also really charming- His face made me chuckle when I saw him!
Audio is also very well made- although needs some volume adjustments.
Good job on this project- it's definitely something to be proud of!
Good luck on your future projects!
Also a huge thanks for playing our game "Shortcut to Game-Dev Success", doing so helped me find your project :D
One suggestion is to make the player slide through the walls, got a little stuck once in a while, but nothing major.
Other than that, it's a fun game, the graphics are good, the sound design is well-done, you integrated the theme into your gameplay mechanics, congrats :)
The zoom out zoom in really nice.
Good entry
A suggestion though : it can be very frustrating to be blocked at a turn because you are not perfectly aligned with the corridor you wish to go through, so maybe you could add some sort of slide to make it more permissive ?

I really like it when people at the LD make simple, to-the-point concepts, that are very easy to get instead of trying too hard to be clever. The use of the sacrifice theme is quite clear in this project, and it makes up for very appealing gameplay. Sacrificing for just a bit more of visibility is something I'm yet to see, which I applaud.
The animations and music are great, and the effects are very atmospheric. My only complain would be that, in comparison, the yelling at the start felt very loud, even though it was quite funny. But it wasn't a big inconvenience.
Anyhow, fantastic work there. [My team](discord.whalesandgames.com) salutes your cleverness. Keep up the good work! :whale:
I appreciate the idea but some fact triggerd me
Your game is well realised for a first participation in Jam.
But (perhaps I'm wrong) there is no good end.
The collision are oppresive (because the path is very tiny).
If you want more 'comfort' for non qwerty user, think to use the arrow key for movement.
