Here are the rules

You win when you have no cards in hand.

When the game starts players can choose Monster Overlord or Heroes. The player with Monster Overlord deck starts.

A round is composed of each player turns.

On the start of the turn, the player can play any special card if desired. Then the player must play either a Hero card (when playing with Heroes) or a Monster card (if you are the Monster Overlord). Then the game goes to next turn.

The player playing next can play any special card if desired. Then the player must play either a Hero card (when playing with Heroes) or a Monster card (if you are the Monster Overlord), but the card played MUST be either a higher Rank or the same Class, this is called a valid card. If a player does not have a valid card in his hand, that player draws cards until a valid card is drawn and played. Then the turn ends.

With Monster Overlord cards and Heroes cards on the table, the dungeon encounter is resolved, and all cards on table leave play - the Hero cards go back to the village and the Monsters cards perish. The player who had the highest Rank card get to start the next round. If all cards had the same Rank, the last player to play starts the next round.

The Rank is the number on the corner, Class is represented by the symbol and color of the card. Special cards have no Rank or Class.

The player who draws the last deck card loses.

I love it, that art reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh, that's awesome. Btw that music is fantastic. it's a great work on that game! =D

Probably the most original approach to the theme I've seen so far. The music is very soothing and the graphics reminds me a lot of oldschool RPG campaigns. The presentation is simple, yet very charming. Unfortunately I could not playtest it with someone else but I think it would be very fun to try it out.

Great work, congrats on the game!

I really like the graphics and its gameplay mechanics - super interesting!

Pros
- The art is really awesome
- I super-like the UI design
- I like that you put in the rules and easy sound manipulation - UX design
- Super nice sound design

Cons or glitches
- It seems some text explaining the next action appears for a brief millisecond and then vanishes?
- A limited number of cards - current version's replayability. Completely understandable for the amount of time used ;)
- The music beginning again in the menus and looping so much can get a little annoying

Good presentation and cool card design.

An AI to play against would have been cool. I used a colleague, but both being novices we didn't know what we were doing.

I didn't have sound on Linux, not sure if that is a bug, or maybe it was something wrong on my end.

Interesting to see a card game on Ludum Dare.

Well done.

Really nicely done! Great art and the gameplay is simple to grasp but has a nice depth to strategy, so you hit a really great balance. If it's in your means to add some AI I think it'd be worth it. Nice to see a higher res AGS game too, (I found this through he AGS forums actually) it's really solidly coded, feels very smooth and nice.

Good stuff!

Very nicely polished and presented. Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone around to play against.

That is a simple and efficient card game, suported by great art and tons of little things (cards animation, volume control,...) that makes it a great entry. Thanks for sharing.

On Linux, starting it via the script in the root directory failed with `ERROR: Unable to find game data files`. But following instruction in the README and starting the .exe with wine worked well.

Great entree! The playtime is pretty short, but if you're playing against clever opponents I could see this turning into a pretty heated match. Loved the music and audio design, it really gave it a good chill mood.

Good game. The sad part is it's only for two players. But good luck!

Guys, you have a great game here. Love the art and the overall aesthetic.
I thought that you could polish it and release it.
