I have to say, the concept to this game is incredible and hilarious. I love this take on the theme, and I love Tetris so I had to play it.
But daaaaamn it's hard, the controls are weirds and counter intuitive, it took me a while to be able to play well. And even then it's so hard because you can screw yourself so easily.
Overall, it's a fun little game, and just for the concept, congratulation !

Great idea and 100% match to the theme!

Great concept, good mix of 2 games to obtain something pretty unique, controls are a bit stiff and could be improved to be more fluid and enhance the overall gaming experience. Good job :thumbsup:

The concept is great. You have proven your point, the two game types don't really fit together.

It's a bit too difficult to play for my taste.

The controls were a bit rough, as everyone else has mentioned. Sometimes it was unclear where the piece was being shot, especially with the L or 2x2 pieces. this could easily be fixed with a highlighted red outline at the tip of the cannon barrel representing where the piece spawns in.

This is a really good idea for the theme. I thought the game looked very nice. I don't know if it was a combination of me being bad at regular Tetris or if the controls were not super smooth but I struggled. Still very nice!

I love the combination of two classic games! It would really come in handy having projection aim, to see where exactly shape will be placed. Music is great =)

Very cool concept! I agree with most of the other's feedback about having a aiming feature.

Great entry :thumbsup:

@Borodar @nidup @blobo @nander @Toulou @dkdwrek @net3ton @nander Thanks for your feedback. We plan not to throw this project and think about controls, aiming and some other features.

the ideia is really good, but the controls and gameplay are hard. My biggest problem is that i dont know exactly where the piece will be shoot, i dont know the position in front of the tank and can't mentally project the piece on the target. I think some small changes could fix that, the piece appearing in front of the tank and a line going up to show where it will be after shooting it would fix this problems. starting with smaller and slower enemies would be nice too.

Music is so nostalgic T____T This combination of games, art, music return me to the past. When little kid playing gems of game industry. Game was fun but very very challenging for me. GG!!

I see what you were trying to do with this game!

What I loved
* Nostalgic music
* Once you get the hang of it, it’s fun but still challenging
* I love what you did with the theme!

What could be improved
* Controls need some work which would improve the overal experience
* Aiming feature

Thanks for sharing. I’d love for you to try out my game as well! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/keyboard-warrior

The idea is cool, but I find it to hard to play. Maybe you can add a aim or something so it's easier to see where the piece is going to land.

An aiming feature would be great indeed ! We had similar issues with our mix of Tetris with Shadow of the Colossus ;)

This is super unique! Great use of the theme!

Good idea, I think a line to help with aiming would do a lot.

I think this is a great concept. very unique! The music for this is awesome. Totally reminds me of tetris. It takes a bit to learn the controls. I would work on that a little bit in the future if you plan to develop this further (please do!). Feel free to check our first entry here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/infinite-typer

First impression was rather "meh", because aiming felt hard and the tank swallowed a few inputs. Played another round, and another, and half an hour later I realized that I was still playing it. Could be 'cus I really love tetris, but after getting used to the controls it was actually really fun. Of course, a more responsive tank and projecting of the block placement would have been nice, but ultimately didn't matter to me after getting used to it. The music was pretty good and fitting, too loud for my liking tho, but giving the option to disable sounds is a big plus. Lastly, tanktris fits the theme. Good job!

This brings back so much nostalgia! This is a hard game though! It requires so much focus (which is nice) but also some steep learning curve (which is not so nice). But I think this is an awesome combination of the two games you referenced from.
I personally feel like the control scheme is a bit weird. It took me a while to get used to (and still I was getting destroyed haha). But anyway great job guys! Really loved the feel!

Great concept! :) A couple things that would be great for a future release, is a lined BG, that so you can get a general feel for where your shot is headed. Also a training level, where it starts slower and gets you used to rotation in this system.

Also, timing the rotation is really difficult. in this case you are trying to time blocky movements from 2 different sources. In tetris you only had to do that with one set of blocky movements. potential fixes to improve that: When firing, freeze the drops until the the block hits, or Move by pixel, not by block.

But good game.

Nice sound and idea, but control is not good enough. Bad choose of keyboard keys, inconvenient. If you fix controls and add some features it can be excellent full game!

Cool idea, but I find it hard to aim in the game and movement of the tank is slooooow :-)
