Hints

The progression of time is quite fast, at the start you must quickly sell one of the monitors and buy UPS's so they will time to charge. The Coffee machine can provide you with boost. If you are not well rested you will collapse and forcibly rest.

Notes

This is my very first Ludum Dare game. It's not entirely balanced.

I opted out of an audio category since I used jukedeck.com to generate music.

Great idea, but a tutorial or more information on how the game works would have been great, it's not clear what the purpose of the game is.

I agree with @alejandrodlsp, the idea is nice, but not well explained.

I love the introductory sequence with the power outage notice, it really helped to set the scene. The graphics in general were really good and you did a great job of setting the mood.

I agree with the comments above. I struggled to understand what to do.

Great idea though and lovely graphics.

Pretty complicated to figure out what to do in the game without reading the instructions on here.

wasn't really clear that I finished the game or that my USP actually was working.

Sweet! Now I can play that it's Ludum Dare during Ludum Dare :D
The game itself is a bit simple once you find out what to do (which - as others have said - isn't really clear at the start). It also took me a while to notice where I can see how much money I had left.
I don't know if this was on purpose or not, but there were a lot of machines that had an option to turn them off in the context menu but that couldn't be turned off.
Overall, this is a solid first entry! I especially enjoyed the hand-drawn graphics which added a bit more personality to the game
Great job!

Haha, I got a C+, so at least I survived the jam! I liked the idea, but there needed to be more variables. There seems to be basically one set way to play, which is a little restrictive.

This is very confusing to me. I don't know how to work on the game. Also finding out where to click for that generator store was very unintuitive.

I loke the art style, it is overall consistent and nicely drawn. I love hand-drawn art in games.

Intro was really good, hand-drawn art and music were perfect ! The game was not easy to understand at first but I after I read the instructions here, it was way easier (and I finally really enjoy it !)

Managed to get an A my second go through. The pace is a bit quick but that actually fits the narrative quite well. I had a good chuckle at the meta-narrative, and all the descriptions.

The whole game's got an air of absurdity around it; the coffee machine being the most expensive item in your house notwithstanding, and that air really carries the whole thing in a delightful way.

There are a number of UI elements that remain unimplemented. The Generators, some "TURN OFF" buttons, the size of the description windows, etc. I don't know if that was something intentional or if you just ran out of time, but you definitely get the impression that Blackout was made in as much of a rush and panic as the game you make in Blackout.

All in all, very nice work. One of the funnier games I've played so far, really enjoyed it.

And the sounds went very well anyway, the game is interesting, I like games that are so stopped and that only the numbers seem to run behind.
