RAD ROVER: GO!!

submitgif.gif

You are the raddest rover on Mars! Your mission: take the best pictures of all the strange wildlife that has suddenly appeared there before your power runs out. But beware, taking too many pictures drains more power! When your power runs out, select the best shots of each creature to get the best score. (Bonus points for selfies!) Let humanity know what awaits them on Mars!

NOTE: in the web build, you may have to click inside the window to enable input. NOTE #2: itch.io seems to be having trouble expanding our file. The radmars.com link should work, too.

Controls - Gamepad recommended! (but mouse works too):

Take picture: A button / left click

Speed up: hold B button / right click

Selfie mode: X button / V key

Sing happy birthday to yourself (drains power): hold Y button / F key

Oh hey, it's Pokémon Snap on mars.

So, I had a lot of trouble controlling the game, as the cursor wasn't locked into the view, even if I fullscreened it, meaning I couldn't turn around all the way. Other than that, it's disappointing that you can't [mobe your bobby preebly](http://tinyurl.com/yayezd8v) as being on rails and looking around in and of itself isn't much fun.

Cool aesthetic, very unusual. Mouse and keyboard controls were a bit tough, but manageable I suppose. Good work!

This is an amazing little Idea and is nicely put together. I really enjoyed this and for the short time limit you managed to populate it really well! You should be proud of what you've achieved <3

Finally, we get a sequel to PokeSnap! lol The ability to do selfies is a very nice touch. The music reminded me of something from Donkey Kong Country 3 which I like, and Rad is so happy that it makes me happy. Not sure if I was something wrong or if it is by design where the camera frequently shifted focus. Perhaps a toggle to let me manually control it (while still limiting the rotation or something like that) would have made it more enjoyable for me. Overall, nice work

Great looking game with some nice music too. It turns out Mars is pretty rad! The photo analysis was pretty cool at the end, although it did give me way too many points for a terrible selfie :)

I would have liked to be able to zoom the camera and maybe apply some filters or something.

Really nice job!

Very cool entry! I never played Pokemon Snap, so I went blind and I found it very fun. I just missed some instructions that I needed to take "professional" pictures. I was just amazed by seeing the creatures and kept clicking haha. Great job, guys!

Very nice work! You picked a good idea that didn't need a huge scope, and you executed it well! All the critters looked nicely animated, and the rover was cute. (I like the 'birthday' touch, too!) The movement, looking around, picture taking, it all worked excellently. I'm impressed!

Awesome to play a Snaplike, there aren't nearly enough of those in the world :D Major kudos on the graphics and world you created (or interpreted, maybe) - simple enough so as not to be distracting, but everything was very well modeled / animated and it made the world feel alive. The photo analysis could use some tweaking - sometimes the name it gave was different than the creature I had in the shot. But no complaints for the rest - very well constructed game, smooth controls, awesome intro and audio, and fantastic environment/graphics. Well done!

The terrain was cool, the graphics were cute, liked how they music slowed down with the power loss.

This was great. The music slowing down on power loss was a great touch. I would like graphics to be in a bit better resolution, and I there wasn't any way to exit the game once I get to scoring part, but great idea and execution overall.

Cool game. I'm a big fan of that graphical style, although I'm not sure how I felt about the polygons near me stretching quite so much, though I did find it quite endearing having come across that in my own engine.

A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

Very neat idea here, only complaint was that selecting pictures and stuff was weird as it seemed my mouse was messing with it when I intended to use arrow keys. Nevertheless, very cool submission!

Super cool Jam game ! nice reference to Pokemon Snap I guess ! Very good job on music and sfx, especially voices at the end of the journey, extra nice 3d style. I felt like all this world was living by its own and has tons of stories to show :) very good mood, nice use of the theme but I wished there was a little bit more challenge, but the experiment was really feeling good. I think the photo selection can lead to funny things, such as fox being a robot or robots being foxes, i'm not sure the detection always stick to the snap :) Also controls were a bit weird with mouse, a little bit better with chrome than firefox. But maybe it'smy dualscreen, often inducing weird bugs with Unity. I really love the music that fits super well, and very great job overall :)

Awesome pokemon snap style game! Loved that you captured the aesthetic. Nice touch with the audio dying as your power runs out.

It's always cool to see a game based on a non-standard action like photographing. I had fun taking pictures of girly robots and creepy aliens, but at some point, I started feeling a little bit boring. Scoring system or something like that would help maybe.

The audiovisuals are appealing and it's quite satisfying to traverse Mars like that.
Thanks for the game!

Just like that old pokemon game. This game everything, great graphics, great sound/music, humor and simple but fun gameplay, perfect for a ludum dare submission. My suggestion on what to add to improve the game more is some more game features and maybe another level. Thanks!

Snap snap snap :) pretty good - pokemon snap style game. I assume that with more time you could add some new features to do something really different. However it is good enough. Well done ++
