Penguin Deliveries 1.jpg

From a 30 minute brain storm in bed whilst contemplating how far two weeks of Unity lessons will get me, I've latched on to a variation of a concept I've been trying to implement to teach myself.

Each level is a series of tiny planets, and you're piloting a delivery ship to deliver to one of the planets, with obstacles being spherical gravity, tiny houses, trees and unfortunately placed asteroids to beat each the par timer.

This is my first Ludum Dare and "proper" game, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did scrabbling around Unity documentation and learning so much in 48 hours!

Very good game. Fun, efficient concept, pretty polished and above all... very hard ! We never came close even a bit to the par times :) But you succeeded to push to retry and improve times. Also the
static background is pretty confusing sometimes, some parallax would have made the challenge less harsh for us. That's impressive for a first approach of Unity, bravo !

Hey there, I'm the guy from Reddit who you just thanked for the advice on the canvas .

I played your game again and I stil really like it. The graphics are probably the best part for me since the gameplay is a bit fiddly. I can never manage to hit the landing area on my first try and always fly around for a few seconds until I can.

It looks really polished overall and the only negative thing I have to say is that I wish I had some more control over the ship. Like slow down more effectively or something like that.

Otherwise - really good work!

This game is really cool! I like the idea and it looks really good. It is kind of hard to see how fast you're going with the background being static. Also, I think maybe the ship should explode or something if you slam into a planet really fast, it seems kind of weird that it just stops you and lets you continue on your way.

Lots of fun! Very tricky sometimes though lol
Sometimes if I get out of sight of other planets, I couldn't find my way back. Thank goodness for the start over option

The game is pretty nice. I love the adorable graphics (and the penguin). The background music is pretty fitting and it makes the game feels more intense. The gameplay is simple but fun. However, the ship is really hard to control (too float-y and too fast). It makes the game really hard. I managed to beat the first level by luck. However, I got stuck at the second level because I overshoot myself once and never manage to get back to the planet (because my rocket is way too fast). I just ended up keep on over shooting and never managed to even see the planet....

Overall, well done! It is a solid game just need some tweaking to the mechanics.

Nice graphics and audio, make this a very polished entry. Good job.

It was weird that all those huge celestial bodies had no gravitational pull. It seems only the platforms pull the ship in.

The ship was relatively hard to manoeuvre, with only one direction of thrust. I overshot the landing platforms all the time. At the end I got stuck between two trees with no way of getting free.

Really nice graphics. The gravity seems a bit glitched, but that's ok. Also, I really wish you had a moving background. It is really hard to tell where you are when it is stationary.

Overall though, nice game!

Great game, I liked the menus design, quick tutorial, background music and the increasing difficulty for each level.

I have two small suggestions:
After level completion menu is shown, the movement can be blocked - now it is possible to fly with the ship and increase level time.
The quit button for web platform can be replaced with option to return to main menu.

Nice grafics and music, i like it!

Spend 2 minutes on 1 level, mb should add magnetic connection near platform to sit spaceship a little bit easier

Fun but challenging game. The graphics and style were good and suited the game play. As others have said, i would have liked the ship to have been destroyed if i crashed.

Nice Lunar Lander clone. I especially liked the amiable graphics and your choice of music. What stood out was your solid handling of the gravity between the different planets.

It may have been on purpose to make the game more relaxing, but since you cannot crash, the game was lacking a bit of a challenge for me. I noticed that you don't need to land upright but can just set down your rocket any way you like.

It was a fun experience.

I had a lot of fun with this game, the game had just enough challenge to keep me going without being brutally difficult. I've played a few games like this during this LD and this one is one of the more fun iterations on the ship lander concept.

Awesome job! I love the super cool retro illustration styled graphics, music fits the mood perfectly. I am glad that you couldn’t damage the spaceship as I am awful at piloting in this game :) One little suggestion about visuals: Maybe make spaceship bit bigger or window and penguin bigger, in this size penguin becomes really unclear.

Controls are a bit frustrating but maybe I'm just bad at these kinds of games. good stuff.

Nice simple concept and well executed with crisp graphics. One thing I would change is to add a moving (parallax?) background so it is easier to orient oneself.

Cute graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)
