made by Genpaku for LD 41 (COMPO)

Hey Guys, this is my project for Ludum Dare 41.

You can see it here: https://genpaku.itch.io/tdshooter

Browser game was to big to upload it here ;)

Controls: W,S,A,D - movement

E - zoom in

Q - zoom out

F4- quit game

LeftMB - based on if host or client

HOST:(Tower Defence) Select turret on right.

Click on red square to spawn turret.

Killing AI -25 money

Killing Player - 75 money

Win when 15 minutes will pass

CLIENTS:(Shooter) LeftMB - shoot

Win when Host HP is 0

This is a combination Tower Defence + Shooter, for people who want to test it without friends there are two bots walking from start to end ;)

You can play over LAN(LAN Host(H)/LAN Client(C))

Don't use LAN Server Only(S) it will now work :D

You can also play over internet using Match Maker ;)

@ItPlay yea i know ;) it should be faster but then theres no chance that players can win this :D it was verrrrry fast when i was testing it so i have to slow it down ;) maybe i'll make new version later if people like it ;)

I liked the idea of an asymmetrical tower defense where one player controls the turret and the others try to get to the end of the path, but I think that in the current version it might be a bit unbalanced.

@Steffo Yea you are right ;) it's to easy for host to win game :)

a bit hard to evaluate on my own, but it does generally seem like a good idea.

The previously mentioned issue with the minigun, I do agree it needs to be changed a bit as depending on positioning it now either pretty much instant kills everything, or doesn't get a hit in at all.

Interesting idea, I guess. The lack of turret upgrades and any "walling" mechanisms is certainly a different take on most (some) TD games.

I like the concept and it plays well. Good job putting it together!

I really like the idea of a tower defense for 2 players. Online play is a plus, although I was not able to try it. Playing with the bots was way to easy, and the sound effect for the machine gun was kind of annoying. Graphics are nice. Good job.

Single player is quite boring, now the multiplayer is where the fun begins. Adding a match maker is very good and impressive.

The balancing is not polished to be honest (minigun can't hit target often), although the concept is there and is iteresting.

Congratulations on making the game!

Cool idea, but not as good executed at it could be I think. It lacks balancing on the turrets and (even if I play to the game alone) I think that is complicated to win when you are the defender. The good point is that you manage to made a multiplayer game, not just in local.

Cool overall game, keep coding :)

It is extremely ambitious to create a multiplayer game for a game jam! I also like the idea of asymmetric gameplay (the Host playing tower defense, and the players trying to break through)! However this game will probably suffer under the fact that most people cant try it that easily, since you need multiple players.

@Elbcore i know :( but you can always launch game 2 times, one for host and one for client ;) I was testing it like that. And now im working on multiplayer FPS ;)

Cool idea! However, not very balanced. Also, @Genpaku careful with the multiplayer FPS. If you're set on finishing it, start very, very small.

@wsKilljoy yea i know it's not gonna be easy, i'll make it simple at start like all my games ;) It's gonna be LAN multiplayer at start, online match making later ;) it's not gonna be the best game, but good enough to play ;)

Not a bad start for a game. As others have said and you agreed with, it does need some balancing, some more weapons, and maybe some way of placing barriers. Maybe destructible walls, so the players can make new routes if they find a weak area in the gun coverage?

An interesting combination for sure! I like the mini gun. It mowed down the bots like nobody's business. Nice work! The gun shot sound got a little overwhelming with how often it was being played, but I'm not sure what you could do to improve that. Overall, a nice game you have here. Good work!

This was a pretty decent game, however it was kind of frustrating that the towers did not aim ahead. Putting a mini gun to the side means it will always miss and never get a single hit so I had to resort to mini guns down the middle and shot guns down the sides. Good job though!
