planetary billiards by the.jahn

[raw]
made by the.jahn for LD 38 (COMPO)

Kind of like pool, but with gravity wells!

Click and drag to fire meteors at the planets.

Knock all the planets into the black hole and you win.

The game won't tell you you've won, but you've won.

Don't let the lack of feedback tell you otherwise, you rock!

Smoothest game I've played yet. The controls are fantastic and so are the particles and other visual effects. As I'm sure you're aware the whole does not take in the balls immediately even if they're directly directly at the center. This swings the massive planets around, usually into walls, which then you have you machine gun away from if the size is beyond that of a pebble, making the gameplay frustrating. No swinging on direct shots and some levels would probably make this a game I'd play for hours or until completion without noticing the time pass.

Nice game! The physics felt really tight and well implemented :) I loved the art too. You have a fun mechanic here, maybe you could build it into a full game with levels?

So I'm a sucker for video game physics, ergo, I had a lot of fun playing with this :) Yeah, there's no denying that it's "Super Incomplete", but it is a good start! At minimum, all you're missing in a shot counter and something to acknowledge the victory condition. The gravity from the large planet was a fun surprise!

It's always funny to play with the physics. But yeah, I miss some objective further more of experimenting. The core works though, with more polish and work you can get something of this. Keep on it!

I loved physics and graphics of planets, really neat. Pool with small worlds is cool idea. It lacked feedback to player about win/lose conditions. Also I could spawn those yellow balls everywhere on map.. dunno if it was bug or feature. Good job!

Very Innovative and Amazing Graphics, but no audio and no humor. It was also saddening not to have a "Win" screen. ;(

Ok Game Overall, fits theme really well.

So, it's pretty clear that as you say it's very far from finished but there is a fun core idea behind it. Fleshing out the game mechanics and building levels around them could yield you a rather entertaining little physics game!

Very good start. I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

Great core game concept, I was left playing for a while before I realized there wasn't more to the game and it was just going to keep going. I noticed some errors cropping up and my framerate started dipping lower and lower throughout the play session. Thanks for the submit!
