Murder 38 - Episode One: A Small World

Join our detectives as they solve a grizzly murder in tonight's episode of Murder 38.

Point and click your way through this humorous tale of mystery and coincidence.

Use the police computer, look for clues and interview people! All presented in a state of the art cinematic style that blurs the line between games and big budget television dramas.

Made in 72 hours. We both killed ourselves making this in time. There may be a couple bugs or typos but we'll polish those bits after Ludum Dare as well as adding additional things we didn't have time to add. Have fun.

*Voice acting may be questionable, and quiet, turn it up!

This game is... AWESOME! I just loved the setting and the overall mood of it and the names... names... perfect . The end game twist was also great, putting the game spot on to the LD38 theme. Keep it up and keep more like this one coming!

Please try our entry [Godspeed Mankind](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/godspeed-mankind) and rate it. Thanks!

The "I bet there is a clue here" sentence.... hilarious!
It was actually full of funny one-liners.

I also did not expect voices, but it really added.

The game is good. It was funny but It takes me quite a time when I get to the victim house. I didn't know I can right click the item I had. I liked your voice acting too, I wanted to do that on our project but we didn't have time and our voice seem off from our game. At the end, shouldn't it has credit or some lines for the next episode ?

This game is so much fun to play. I like this genre very much. Overall very nice implementation. Perhaps you can do some postprocessing (darker, flimmering screen or add a vignette or sth. like that) and add some more soundtracks to create more mood. Very nice entry!

This is my favorite game in this jam !! I really love this at all: graphics and music are amazing. But my highlights have been the dialogue, I could not stop laughing while I read it and listening voices hahaha! My best congratulation for this artwork.

Wow, I mean, AMAZING entry guys! Story is cool, humor is best, the mood is perfect and I loved graphics and music so much! It seems like a real demo, I really amazed you guys make this for a jam! Maybe is just a bit too easy for me, but it's really wonderfull! I'm waiting for the second episode! Good job guys! :) (anyway we did make a detective game too)

The art and music were very good, but I couldn't progress after putting the wallet in the computer.
Good job, though!

@samsoidal You just need to keep clicking to get through the computer dialogue then click on the door to leave.

This game is, quite frankly, amazing for an LD entry. The level of polish you've achieved here is amazing.

Super well made and polished game. Well structured and limited in smart ways. Some good puns in there as well even if the Biche-jokes got a bit to many for my taste. Could be a bit harder perhaps?

Really good game, one of the best ones I've played so far, voice acting was really good, music was exceptional, loved the art, and the story was interesting. The best part of the whole game though was the humor, it was a laugh just playing the game, with all the dialogue and comments made you guys added. Really solid job on this one, I can see it being more and I'm very impressed. Didn't even know it was possible to make a game like this in three days, really goo job, cant praise it enough

This was incredible. The voice acting really tied it together and made it stand out. The story came across super well and the mood was really well set. I'm impressed with the level of polish on this one. You definitely nailed the cinematography. I love the fuzinness of the objects in the background during cutscenes. Also, oh my god. Biche and Damnit. I love the names. Top notch work here. The only complaint I had was that after the game ended, nothing happened. I had to Alt-Tab and close the window. That's not a huge deal though, just a little detail ;) This was definitely one of my favorites this jam.

Thank you so much to everyone that took the time to play and rate our game. We really appreciate all the feedback and we're so happy that you appear to have enjoyed it!

To those suggesting the game is a little easy, we have to agree with you. We wanted to make sure it was a fun experience that everyone could see to the end, but really we just ran out of time to add red herrings and dummy items to make it harder!

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to play our game!

Fantastic game! Very well made and polished. I wouldn't have guessed it was only made in the short time if I didn't know it. Really like that you included voice acting. I had alot of fun playing it. The best game I've played this ludum dare so far!

Wow, this was an amazing little piece of graphic adventure. Good graphics, good animations, good music... and even voice acting! The game is full of humor and I like the way the mood is set. Despite this, it isn't perfect. When the game ends it doesn't show credits or even close itself, just a black screen appears. It could have more feedback in some actions and the theme... well, I don't think one game fits with the theme only because it naming it some times...

Anyway this was one of the best games of this jam that I've played. With more content and more polish (basically, with more time working on it) could be perfectly a commertial game and a nice graphic adventure to play. Good job making this in only 3 days!

Wow, this one is amazing! Congratulations guys!!
I can't complain about anything. The music just hit the point, the graphics go really well with the gameplay, the voice acting is lovely, Discovery, Otter, Biche and Dammit are charming enough for me not to forget their names haha. Such a good storyline to play along ^-^
I'd really enjoy playing a longer version of this one, like if this was chapter 01 and so on.
Thanks for giving birth to this one! I'm voting full stars!

The thing I really liked with this game was the zoomed in dialogue views. They were really slick! But at the same time, it did feel like that style broke some with especially how the map looked like and the interaction icons. Never the less, really impressive amount of work and content in this game for a LD-game. The `Dammit` `Biche` joke I didn't particularly enjoy and I think the tone, content and fun in the game didn't really need it.

Good work.

Excellent game, I really like the voice acting, it's what adds the flavor to this game. Is it you acting or are you using any software?

Except for the Biche jokes which I didn't appreciate, the rest of the dialogs are really funny! Good job.

@axoona Thank you for the feedback. I did the voices myself, I'm glad you liked them! They were really rushed on a chaotic Monday.

I thought the Biche joke might be divisive. It was never meant to cause offense, just a really low brow stupid pun. I appreciate your feedback though and thanks for the other positive feedback!
