The True Treasure Hunter by Kahztein
* IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE PLAYING * - There is an unbeatable level in the main version of the game (you'll know it when you see it), the best solution is to jump into the spikes and click restart level.
When you click "restart level" after dying, you will return to the hub, upon re-entering the level the room you were on will skip
I ran out of time completing this game, you will probably notice a few things that seem unfinished
* END OF NOTES *
Say hello to the world's least moral treasure hunter
Adventure through the mines doing what you must to get to the exit.
Controls:
Arrow Keys - Left, right, jump and crouch. You can also use them to adjust your aim.
C - Push. Simply gives a "little" nudge to anyone in front of you.
X - Pickup/drop. Use this to pick up (or mercifully put down) one of your fellow explorers (can also cancel a throw).
Z - Action/interact. Holding it will allow you to aim a throw, otherwise, it can be used to buy from the shop and to enter a door.
Well, this was certainly an interesting Ludum Dare, never have I lost so much time trying to work out things that should've just been scrapped from the beginning. I'll be the first to admit that in its current form, this game lacks a lot of important aspects of a game. However, I'm still proud of what I accomplished. I know that next Ludum Dare I will be sure not to make the same mistakes, and hopefully, I can finally make a game to completion.
And hey, if you enjoy what's here, feel free to check back later, I may have a post-jam version released.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this light-hearted comedy about murdering your co-workers.

I see you got a lot of inspiration from Spelunky and I love that. And especially the changing levels were a Highlight for me!
- one logic to determine throw was odd, I had to kind of struggle until I got an angle I liked. I think you were moving an aiming point, but angle and throw distance would be more intuitive.
- There is bug that when picking up characters, often times I could not move until I dropped them and picked them up.
- I fumbled on the controls a lot. The three buttons didn't click well for me. It's not that I can't play games with many buttons, but the controls didn't feel very distinct. I think the controls could have boiled down to a single button. tap to grab and drop, hold to throw.
@acaral @dzmitry-pukhouski Actually that's intended as it was the last level I managed to get done before running out of time. I've only now just realised that the version I published still has a glitch where the text messages only appear once, which I did fix before publishing but I got the files mixed up. There was supposed to be a message in that room to explain the sudden end. Whoops.
Maybe some introductions or help at the game start and a end at the last level can polish the game in the good way, but anyway its a jam and I can understand that you didnt had the time for this.
I realy enjoyed the concept and the graphics works perfectly!
Thanks for the game ;)
The core mechanics are here but there are two little bugs I found (I played the original version):
- I fell next to spikes where a guy was dead and couldn't move or jump, only change direction. It seems that the dead body prevented me from moving (afterlife revenge I guess :D).
- when an arrow doesn't kill anybody, you die simply by walking on it.
Other than those bugs and the music a little bit too repetitive, I really enjoyed the gameplay and the graphics. Wish there was more levels and more blood (just like when you are crushed by a giant boulder!).
Good job!
