Background

Avoid the guards and get all the coins! But be careful, the guards are equipped with powerful magnets that will attract you as you gather more coins!

How to play

Control you character with ASWD and move the camera with the mouse. You can stomp in the guards' heads to stop them for a while. When you get all the coins, the exit will open!

Comment

Personally, I'm very proud of this game. I've learned a lot making it. My challenges were to learn how to make animations in Blender and make a "complete" game, with Start screens, Instructions and at least two stages. I've completed all of them. I hope you all play and have a little fun with it! Cheers!

Note

The original submission is the Windows version, but many people were just checking the page and not downloading it, so I created a WebGl build. Unfortunately, it has a slightly worse graphics quality, so it can run smoothly in a browser.

I like the cute character and the music seems to really fit the game well. Only two complaints. First, the character moves so slow it's a bit painful. I found myself hunting for a sprint button but never found one. Second, There's no game over screen or anything showing how you won the day and saved the coin princess or something. Kudos points for having a title screen and a "how to play" screen setup.

I was so scared of the first jump because I was moving so slow. The height of the jump gave me courage though

@oxrock yeah, I agree xD But I didn't had time to adjust the gameplay after incrementing the speed. Although a sprint button would be really interesting! Thanks!

@mess110 As I said to @oxrock if I had more time to adjust the gameplay, I could increase the player's speed, but I thought that if I did it and do not adjust the speed accordingly, everything could get very very very easy. (and the game is easy as it is now, xD)

The game is simple and okay fun to play. The animations and characters was really good, and the music was fun. Overall a fine LD game.

A visual representation on magnets getting stronger with each new coin would be nice. I wouldn't get it if you didn't explain it in advance. The animation style is nice.

Simple, easy and good. But I found some issues.

- Character is a little bit slow.

- I didn't see that the guards attract me more if I have more money.

- I think that if you go out and between the guard and you there is some distance, the guard maybe stop chasing you.

Overall, good game for de LD! Nice job!

@magicdidac 1) The character speed was reported by many, it's something I'll increase, sure. 2) The guards do attract you more, but this effect is stronger in the second phase. 3) The guards are relentless! They shouldn't stop chasing you! Thanks for your feedback!

I want to tell about some issues, but all comments already have this information. So, I only hope that you will fix this and create more levels. Good job!
I can only add that the music was a bit obsessive for my own.

I think I gave one of the guards brain damage by jumping on him for a few minutes straight.

Your models were cute. Did you learn Blender animation during the 48 hours of the Ludum Dare? That's pretty amazing. With a few more levels this could make for a sweet game. Really sweet LD entry. Congrats!

@CaptainDreamcast Actually, I was watching videos about animation for some time, but this LD was the first real time I made any good enough ones :-). So what are the simptoms of that brain damage you reported? Did they stop chssing you? Thanks for your feedback!

@thiagofr Nah, the final stretch with three guys chasing you sometimes resulted in two of the guys squeezing the third, but that was about it.

You did this game alone in 48 hours ?!? Great work man, such a great game, and it is one of the cutest games I've played so far, good graphics (and cute), good sounds that fits the game concept a very well done mechanic, good job !

Did you play the webgl version? In that version unfortunately the camera is a little janky indeed. For a better experience, I would advise you to play the windows version.

If you are talking about the slow speed of the character, it has nothing to do with the magnets! xD

But if you get close to the guards, you'll see that as you gather more coins you'll really move towards them. This effect is more noticeable in the end of the second phase! Thanks for your feedback.

Really nice idea of the magnets being more powerfull when you have more coins, very inventive! The character design was very cute, but I felt the movement very unresponsive, and sometimes it fels like it was runing on ice.

Nice little game, I like the models and the music! The gameplay has a good base but the player does move too slow - I see you've already taken that feedback and will fix in the future which is great.

I died twice on that first jump before making it by the way - with the slow speed it was a bit hard to make.

getting the jump timing worked out was challenging.. after getting it figured out it game play was good.
Music loop could have been longer, the loop was frustratingly short.
Second level - character was floating about the height of this foot off of the ground.
Graphics were good for a compo.
Would have been nice for it to be clear that you had to get to the pad at the end after getting all the coins. After dying to the first jump time after time, I tried getting the stuff across the jump first. and found out that there was an exit pad that had to be reached.

I suspect that your character controller collider and the placement of the character in it is your problem. I had that happen to me one time also.
