SPLIT_SHOT is a 2D bullet-hell coliseum game where the player is stuck within a single area and must survive endless rounds of enemies. These enemies range from various types and the player must be able to beat as much of them as possible. Using the player's weapon will inflict self-damage to the player's lifepoint. Having a lifepoint of 0 will result in a game-over. However, the player is able to slowly regenerate it's lifepoint over time. The player is able to carry one weapon and one special ability. Over time, some drops will appear that will grant the player a new weapon or ability. This however, replaces the current weapon or ability of the player. The player must decide what is worth keeping and what is not. Enemies will spawn at different angles and will surround the player. After a set of rounds, the game will become harder and harder where enemies will hit harder, harder to be destroyed, or that the player will inflict less damage.

The tools I used is the post-processing stack from Unity and an open-sourced code about sprite glow, (https://github.com/Elringus/SpriteGlow). I also used a downloaded font from an open-sourced website (daFont.com)

Pretty good overall. Takes a little bit of play to figure out what's going on but after that it's fairly smooth to move around the arena and start new waves. The graphics and sound were pretty fitting and about the only bug I noticed was that sometimes enemies got themselves stuck in corners.

P.S. I can't speak for everyone else but I'd prefer a zip file I can just unzip (that way I can keep the files for all the games I've played together) rather than an installer (which I then have to go around and hunt down the uninstaller for). Not that that will affect my score obviously.

It's a very enjoyable experience! I liked it.

Things that could be improved: the space button to shoot can be stressful on the fingers, i think the mouse button would be a better choice. The AI always got stuck in the walls which made all the fights quite easy.

Besides this, I think it is a fun game with fun mechanics, and I like how it changes the shooting mechanics.

I got up to level 8 but no one came, I don't know if that is the end of the game or a bug?

Very nice use of the theme, sharing life as your one resource for attacking is neat!

I think it could do with some feedback when an enemy is hit by an attack. Especially with the melee weapon I didn't know if I was doing any damage.

And as @slashee-the-cow said, having to run an installer is a big put-off. I nearly didn't play your game at all!

Cleared 21 waves then I quit since it didn't look like the difficulty will get any higher. I hope I didn't quit just before the boss. Solid game but I'm missing more difficulty and hold-to-fire system.

- Sounds were nice but I was missing firing sounds
- Like @slashee-the-cow said, ZIP is better than installer for the sake of the whole trying-the-game process.

Overall, very good. It was a great experience, the gameplay is on point, except maybe a click instead of the space bar fot the attack ?
I only had two problems; the ennemy getting stuck in the wall, the game then become a bit too easy. And when I got to level 11 no ennemy came at all.
But 48h is a very small amount of time so of course it's normal that it's not perfect. :)

It started fun, but then suddenly on level 7 no enemy appeared and I got stuck :(
Would be cool to have a recharge meter, to see how many shots and how fast you can fire.
Also I didn't understand all of the items and didn't get what to sacrifice.

Very well done; the graphics and audio are pretty neat, but I would suggest to change the shooting from space-bar to mouse click.

There's definitely a bug where sometimes no enemies will spawn and the wave is not complete-able, and it seems to just happen randomly. I also couldn't seem to hit anything with the sword/scythe power-up equipped, even if I was ramming my ship head first into an enemy the little blue scythe did no damage. Not a bad little LD game though.

Very interesting style! I enjoyed the looks of the foes.

There are many problems, though.
The two I encountered:
1. I could teleport outside of the room.
2. Sometimes enemies get stuck in the walls.

Also, I wish I could see the controls somewhere inside of the game :)

The game feels too incomplete, which affects how I enjoyed it. Nice graphics and sound style.
