Raveyard by Brook Henwitch

made by Brook Henwitch for LD 41 (JAM)

Update 1: New and windowed edition!

Hey guys!

We've made some improvements! You can find Raveyard 1.1 here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15NgMOsUWuXN2-OgyjDlSYaCe6tLw6IWd/view Most of the resolution problems should be fixed by now, as well as some bugs. The game also targets your Music directory on launch now, so it should be a more pleasing experience overall!

A lot of people have asked us if we were planning to continue this project, or even demanded that we do; I am glad to announce that the answer is YES! We all have day jobs and little free time though, so it will take considerable time before we can release the next version, but we do intend to do so!

Mark my words: this is not the last you'll hear of Henwitch Studio!

Stay tuned!

Rhythm platform hell

Hey everyone! We're Henwitch Studio, your typical, frenchie, quirky, semi-professional game-making team! :chicken:

During this Ludum Dare, we've made Raveyard, a rhythm platformer starring Tenpo, a raving Oni girl. :japanese_ogre:

We were kinda overambitious with the project and didn't manage to fit everything in, including, sadly, a few essentials.

Have fun!raveyard.png

@chewie-henwitch is our resident dream one-man-dev-team.

Finally, @darklim-henwitch is our aspiring game designer, level designer, sound designer and any other things designer.

And together, we're Henwitch Studio! We aim to become the best at what we do, and what we do is making fun, pretty, and pretty fun games!11962.gif

Hi! Watched your newsfeed during jam. Graphics are top-notch!

But sadly, game haven't any tutorials or explanations. It would be great to add some!

Love the pixel art from your feed.
Would be great if you guys adding the sample audio you test the game in the build also.
Really tricky to get this game running right.

I've been wanting to try your game for an entire week and now that I find the time to do it, I have a bug. I'm pretty sure I can't see everything I should see and especially the menu. Here are some screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/gkIHZp6
Could you please help me? I really want to try your game and I want to help you get the ratings you need ;w;

Sadly, the game is really not scaling well... I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrZuBymYcB4

The game looks very promising! Art is fascinating and i like the idea) i managed to add my own .mp3-file to resources folder and chose it in the game but unfortunateky i didn't understand what to do next, i jumped and dashed but platforms disappeared) i'm looking forward you finish this game!

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.

Hey everyone! Sorry for not being that reactive. As you can see just atop of this page, we've made some fixes to the game!

@Jaa спасибо!

@Reivert Thanks! The game should be easier to play now. By "audio sample", do you mean the title screen's music or the music we used to test the game ourselves? If you mean the latter, we can't include it because it's not free of rights (hint: it was Highway to Hell and the whole Pretty Reckless discography). The title screen is "Failing hard at pop music", by TeknoAxe.

The Oni girl's name is Tenpo, and she thanks you for your comment!

@Ryunos BAM! Resolution fixed! Check out the update if you want to play the game right! Also, thanks for your support!

@Jupiter_Hadley Oh hey, cool, thanks! You just won yourself a subscriber. Also, the scaling problem is now fixed; you can now enjoy Raveyard in full 782x280 glory!

@anaticula Thank you! We maaay have overworked our dev to death on this one, and we didn't have enough time to fully test it, so... yeah, platforms aren't really working as they should. Some of the bugs should be fixed by now though! Stay tuned for the following update, with additional bug fixes and maybe some tutorial too!

@cristiano.m.garcia We'll do both. Thank you for playing!

I've tried to play your game again. The resolution's fixed and I managed to select a music but when I played, my character got stuck several times and even if I jumped or dashed following the rhythm, nothing would happen. The platforms also disappeared... I'm looking forward to new updates for all those horrible bugs to be fixed.

Graphics and music gestion are awesome, but I can't play the game : the ground keeps mysteriously disapearing !

@Ryunos @Cerdcee Yeah, we're still working on those. We hope to release a stable build at some point in the future. Our dev is kinda overworked at the time tho, so it *will* take time. Sorry :/

It's pretty sad because I think it might be preventing you from getting the ratings you need =/

Eh... Probably. But hey, at least we've learned something from the experience!
