Heat Death by Chao

You play as a robot seeking power cores to achieve your fully powered state. In the mean time you have to manage what little power you have to keep your subsystems online and fight off other machines and scavenging humans. You will fail in your attempt, but along the way you will conquer rival machines, and splatter many meat-bags.
Unfortunately I had a last minute hiccup with the löve sound system, so the release version doesn't have any sounds. I'll try and get this fixed before the end of the submission hour.
UPDATE--- Turns out it was a capitalization problem with one of the sound files :(. It's fixed now, the default package on game jolt has sound.
If you want to download the release version, download the non post release package.
Controls: Use left mouse button to move around. Use right mouse button to fire laser, if you have it activated.
Your power bar is displayed on the left, each one of your components used a certain number of these bars, so you can only have a small number of components activated at once.
To activate components, toggle the lights on the side to green, this click the switch button. This will take a turn, so try and predict what components you are going to need before going into combat.

The window is also resizable, so you can get a bigger view of the world. If you want to survive, you probably should maximize your window.
--For mac and linux users The package for mac and linux users just contains a .love file, to run this you will need to download the latest version of Love. https://love2d.org/
--Tools used Paint.net , Love2d engine https://love2d.org/ , Free sounds https://freesound.org/ , NotePad++

@flyingmeta In hindsight, I probably should have had a 'hit' sound for the enemies to give a better idea of when you are doing damage. Unless you are actually just clicking on the wrong square, lasers will always do damage unless the shield pops up. Also melee should be working properly, probably just a feedback issue like you said.
@wolderado Each mod uses a set number of power bars, so the more you get the more components you can activate. The number of little blue bars on the right of the activate button tells you how many power bars it uses.
it's a great game
pixelart is very lovely
waiting for your next game
@aterlamia There's a problem right now where you have to move into an empty tile to get out of the starting screen. Unfortunately, you might have started next to a wall, and be unable to move in certain directions. Try clicking around the screen instead of in one spot, and if that doesn't work just restart (you can press r to quick restart instead of opening and closing).

That is the screen i get but no mather what i press or click it does not work for me.
It's also possible that the way Linux handles stuff, the method of getting the random seed (from the clock) fails and gets stuck always spawning you surrounded by walls. In this case I'm not sure what I would do to fix it. Hopefully it's not that.
Anyway, new version can be downloaded from the same link, should appear as an updated package of the post release.

Just uploaded an image that describes all the different modules, as well as some basic strategy. Hopefully that makes the game more enjoyable for future players.
@aterlamia Unfortunately Linux is outside my specialty, so I'm not sure how to interpret that information. Thanks for the help bug-fixing anyway though, I appreciate it.
Very tough and random tough. I saw a power core once and then got shot to pieces again. I'd like to be in control just a bit more, starting with a few more power bars might do it too.
The hostile robots are nearly impossible to beat, while the humans are weak, but even two of them coming from different angles can lock you in place as they have longer range than you.
A bit torn on this one, but I do think the positives outweigh the negatives. Do work on it, if you have the time.
