Nice little game, the mechanic is simple and the gameplay is challenging. It takes a bit to get used to shooting straight to the planet instead of outwards, but it is fun nontheless.

Nice little game but I keep missing my score because I'm mashing fire all the time and skipping the game over screen. Would appreciate an auto-fire function or semi-auto like in star fox.

@spinaljack That's a really great idea! I meant to add a function to get the game to stick on the game over screen a little longer but ran out of time.

Really fun and addictive. Great looking sprites and sound effects. I kept killing myself though, at some spots if i shoot and move at the same time i instantly collide with my own bullets.

In the beginning I had a few problems on how to shoot in the right direction, but after a few rounds this worked quite well. I like the pixel art and sounds. Nice work :upside_down:

Nice shooter, I like the challenge brought with aiming since you are always facing the planet. Since this was an issue repeatedly mentioned for my game, I wonder if it would be good if the bullets curved slightly around the planet, with the amount of curve dependent of how close you are to the planet itself.

4000 something is my record after a bunch of plays (it is a bit annoying to have to reload to really have a chance at seeing that score but there was a massive influx of enemies). On the other hand it was nice to get jolted right back into a new try. The controls took some time getting used to, and most dangerous enemy was definitely my own shots. Maybe they should have been going a bit faster so the risk of running into them wasn't that high. Especially since the controls was unusual to start with anyhow. But on the other hand, the challenge was fun. The whole game was fun. I liked the art style too. I mostly stayed on one side of the planet as went side-ways back and forth and that way managed to get most enemies. On that front it would have been nice to know how many hits the planet could take. As a whole, really well made arcade game.

I'm really bad, I think every time I died was due to my own shots. The art and sound effects are really well done and it was a fun way to kill a lunch break.
My only issue is that it is unclear how many hits the planet can take and it's easy to miss the game over screen from shooting constantly.

Took a while to get used to shooting at the planet instead of outwards. Also kept dying without understanding why at first. It turned out that I was moving faster than the bullets I was firing so I kept hitting them with my ship from behind. Enjoyed it overall.

I'm not sure what was going on, it seemed like the game would randomly reset every so often. It was an interesting play mechanic, to be firing inward toward the planet at all times, and having to maneuver so that my shots would hit the enemy, but it was also pretty counter-intuitive. Are my shots also terraforming the planet or something? If I live long enough does the planet change?

Bullet hell in a warped time/space gravity well

Really wanted to like this game, it looks great. But being able to die from your own fire made this really hard to play. I couldn't move and fire at the same time as I'd just die. Plus, my bullets didn't always move towards the planet like I'd seem to expect. It was certainly odd to shoot towards the planet.

I think just having left/right and shoot as input and being a fixed orbit around the planet shooting outwards would dramatically make this an instant hit.
