- Sound effects. Obviously there's only so much you can do in 72 hours, but while the firing animation is viscerally pleasing, some "BAZZAM ZAM ZAM" is really needed when you're frying enemies with a blaster cannon.
- The HUD is large and blocks out much of the screen. Shrinking it and putting it at the very top could cut down on the "this thing is in my face" feeling while still communicating the necessary information.
- It's not clear to the player when an area is removed. Some sort of visual effect might be helpful for clarity.
- I like what you did with the key. It took me a bit to find it.
- GAAAAH A green guy ate my face again. Seriously, I have no idea what to do about them before I have the propeller expect go back to the last screen to respawn the enemies.
- A bug: pressing the down arrow on the victory screen makes the text flicker/move.
All in all, I found this to be quite an enjoyable game. Good job, and I'll be back tomorrow to leave a rating.
Of course, a little sound would go a long way in bringing the game together.
I was going to make at least some simple sound effects in **sfxr** but i was bogged down by some bugs with transitioning between screen to screen and the level design both that can still be improved on.
The buggiest thing i think is the victory screen just because it was last minute (literally) its basically just an image thrown in front of everything but it does its job good enough!
Thanks again for the feedback and playing the game! Appreciate it so much!
Great game! it reminded me a lot to Dangerous Dave (and that's good in my books)
Some feedback I could give you is making enemies a bit more slow and prevent them to re-spawn everytime you leave a room.
Apart from that, very good work!
Good platformer mechanics, I'm still not sure what I was supposed to be doing but the core mechanics were solid. Maybe make the demons a little less beefy.
Yeah the demons are pretty hard to defeat! its best to keep your distance from them and just keep knocking them back until they die but purple demons don't get knocked back which makes them almost too hard!
The goal of the game is to talk to as many people as you can and help them fulfill their quest and if completed they will follow you around and accompany you as you try to escape on the spaceship!
Or you can just try to survive the demons and escape by yourself that's always fun too!
Again thank you so much for playing! I appreciate it!
The pixel-y style fits the game well. It's just that those pixel-y graphics need some audio like sounds and effects and maybe some nice 8-bit track! Too bad your game didn't have those. :(
It was a bit difficult sometimes but it might be just me. But hey, I like it difficult!
I also liked the variety of the enemies.
Aside of those things this was a fun entry. Nice concept! Well done!
Complete deal-breaker, sorry.
Joking aside, it was great. Little quests about finding balls and guitars ( I've traded the guitar for the ball, felt pretty bad when dad said he needs it :P ). Enemies were extremely tough ( some of them ) but propeller saved me every time.
Graphics were okay, fitting the rest of the game.
Climatic.
**What you did well**
The graphics were very nice and the gameplay was really good. The enemies had the perfect balance between too hard and too easy and the items in the game were great. I also liked how some of the characters would trade items and I thought the story was quite fun.
**How you could improve**
***ADD SOUND!!!*** I may have rated this higher if it just had any music playing in the background. Humans have five senses. At least use two of them!!
Jokes aside, it's definitely something you would want to consider in the future. Also, giving the characters that follow you a use would be nice. Something funny, like being able to throw them over hills as a form of bait.
But overall, a really nice game that has great potential.
(Also, I spent a long time writing this and would appreciate a review. You can play my game [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/planet-dominion))
I will make sure to play and rate your games!
Thanks for playing!
I like the charm the game has with its graphics and little stories (someone neds a guitar, the kid wants his ball, etc.) Somehow was interesting to generate intriguing gameplay. Too bad the janitor doesn't want to leave :(.
Like other have said, you can fell the lack of sound. Too bad since it would have been a lot better with it.
However, it was a fun entry and I enjoyed my time saving everyone (n_n).
