Power Down by harark

made by harark for LD 39 (JAM)

Screen2.png

Maneuver a machine through winding corridors before you run out of power. Turn on and off different systems to conserve power, and don't forget to listen to the environment. Headphones recommended!

We attempted to make a game where one would have to rely on audio input to a high degree. It's hard! Although we are content with the result we have a lot to learn about communication through audio. Please note that we did not create any of the sounds ourselves.

Didn't hear any sound. And maybe because of that, I didn't understand how to play.
Even tho, the concept seems cool. A simple explanation of the mechanics would be nice.
Good job

Nice idea, simple and clean graphics, but steering is a little bit too stiff. Also, sound effects would make the game more fun.

It was hard alright! :D
Maybe add a small tutorial or some instructions for new players? :)
Great work still! :)

game looks like it could be fun but i couldn't understand what was going on, a description of mechanics and how to play would have fixed this. Instructions would have made the game a whole lot better. Overall its quite good, well done.

So I understand the game, it requires a lot of looking into it to understand the mechanics, it really should come with a tutorial. Specially after the first checkpoint where there's a whole or something where you can fall and takes time to understand how to avoid that.
The idea is good and interesting, but needs a tutorial to avoid the initial confusion.

Fresh, interesting, exciting!
The only thing - it's not very convenient to look at two points of the screen, maybe you should think over another UI?
Thanks for the web version

I like how you try to navigate and do the dance dance revolution at the same time. I also like when the power run out and I just stand still and turn off the engine for visual and sound, and then power back up.

That said, the pace was very slow, I would have liked smaller levels with more choice. And maybe some voice overs would fit well?

I got the turn on engines on 1,2 but didn't get what the space button did.

Cool concept overall :)
