(3rd Ludum Dare!) Order Up! is a combination Restaurant Simulation & Platform game. You are the owner of a popular restaurant where you need to run around collecting food items to complete customer orders (and make a bit of money).

  • Touching a food item with your player/owner will pick up the food item. If the food item is not picked up you have reached the maximum number of 12 food items (your restaurant inventory plus what you are carrying).
  • When you go back to your restaurant all of the food items you are carrying will be placed into the restaurants inventory.
  • Touching any red "enemy" will immediately send you back to your restaurant.
  • If your restaurant inventory has the maximum number of 12 food items, your inventory will be lost when you leave your restaurant (hopefully you can complete at least one order).
  • To complete an order you must be able to match all of its food items with what you have in your restaurants inventory.
  • Press the number of the order to complete it... making the customer happy and you some money!
  • Be careful not to press the number of an order that you do not have inventory for... you'll lose the order and the money.

Control the player/owner with the arrow keys (left/right to move); ctrl, space or up arrow to jump; esc to pause.

I started off hoping to submit for the Compo, but was not able to create my own food items (at least none that i liked), so Jam it is!

Cool concept! The level design could be a bit better, but overall the game played fine.

Nice Idea. Like playing it. But it also took me a bit time to understand what I have to do.
And I think the controls especially the jumping.
I like it though

Likes your idea to combine economic game with platformer. May be orders should be expired

Nicely done! A lot of fun seeking out what ingredients were needed. I wasn't sure what the timer was for...? It added this scary time element that always kept me more nervous than having fun, ha ha. Like, I wasn't sure if at any moment the time would "run out" and it would be game over. :) Anyway, great job and congrats on finishing for the jam! Good stuff.

Good job, I thought it would be a _piece of cake_ until I realized that I could only hold so many food items. That twist really made me think strategically, so good on you! My only feedback would be to add some more height between platforms. I found it nearly impossible to jump over enemies under platforms. Perhaps this was by design? Regardless, you did a great job!

Cool concept & great entry, I like the overall ambiance, could be nice to be able to kill enemies (even temporary) by jumping on them for instance, it's pretty expected (or maybe I'm influenced by too much Mario playing when being younger  ), other option is to have more space to jump under platform, in other hand it also make the game difficulty properly balanced. Congratz for this very good entry

Good Game!! Was hard to understand what to do but nevertheless an entertaining game. The platforms were to close to each other, maybe opening some space could improve the games feel? Congratulations on your LD entry!

The game fits perfectly the theme, good job !
It could be nice if we'll be able to kill enemies, with weapons for example, that you could buy with your money ! Also jump under the plateform and even above the food. Because sometimes you only got 1 slot left for your food, and you can't reach the one you need without touching another....

I literally fell out of my chair when that first sound hit at the start of the game, caught me so off guard. Enjoyed the game, it was hard though - and I wonder if that's because of the controls as they felt a little soft. Great sound affects, and I really like the concept of the game. Overcooked + Super Meat Boy would be a fun combo.

It was pretty fun, though there aren't many features and it became repetitive after like 3 minutes. I'm NOT saying I'm against jam games being short-termed! Just would prefer some sort of an ending and/or fast paced features. Just my opininion though.

Overall I liked it, good job!

The idea is awesome and very funny to play. Maybe the platforms are a little low and enemy colliders to big (or maybe is just me and I am a bad player xD). Good job mixing those game mechanics!

I like the idea of the game a lot, I just wish the food items were placed in certain areas instead of randomly placing them. A better level layout would make the game better too. Maybe add some sort of time limit for the orders and maybe lives because I didn't feel the pressure to fulfill the orders. The controls were very smooth and the double jump felt really good.

Nice idea! Simple premise that works well. The controls are very responsive (I like that feel of the platform mechanic) and the double jump is a nice touch. I think there should be some kind of cash penalty for leaving with a full inventory rather than just clearing the inventory so there's more pressure on the player to collect the right food items. Either that or timed orders as was mentioned above. Something to think about if you pursue the game further after the jam. I had fun playing - great submission!

no bad, graphics where reasonable, game play was smooth. easy to get hit. wish order would follow with you.

The jump is too floaty for my taste and there are some balancing issues, but the idea is solid, all you need is polishing.

Really like the genres picked here! I didn't get any sounds on the HTML version, I've read someone complementing the sound was that the win build? D:

Solid entry!

I found the jump a little complicated to control and the enemies could have a better one, but I thought the idea was very good. Congratulations!

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.
