May I ask you which engine did you use? 'cause 90mb for a ludum dare game are really a lot...

I think the idea of having the lights go out is pretty cool and also fits the theme quite well! The gameplay is a lot of fun too, especially with the available power-ups. Well done!

We made it in Unreal Engine 4, sadly it's not quite as good as Unity at keeping file sizes down, sorry!

Powerups are pretty cool! Would have been sweet if you could unlock some permanently instead of loosing them after a few seconds
I ended with a score of 3365

I enjoyed the game!
nice idea with the lights going out.

I found a bug where you can shoot ( or more spawn shots in front of you) when the game is paused.

The visuals are amazing, in my opinion if you follow what JW said on the talk "the art of screenshake" you could improve the game a lot!! Anyway nice entry.

@rixud Assuming your drivers are all updated, it's probably down to it just not being very efficiently coded unfortunately - I struggled with getting it smooth even on my pc in the final hour of the jam.

I'll see if I can release a performance fix in the next day to improve the situation!

Visuals are nice. And as @rixud screen shake would improve the game.

What Fillefilip8 says shaking the screen would add a more real touch, but it is a very good idea of play

This is definetly the funniest game I have played, even though I don't really like the graphics and the music, and the AI is pretty stupid. Still, I played it for at least half an hour and I reached 6500 points. The lightning mechanism is well excecuted and really adds to the game. Very nice Job!

Simple but fun game, visuals were nice but lack of VFX (enemy death/hit impact) was a bit jarring

Lights in the background were to strong, and impacted visibility of the enemy. This game needs some juice - explosions, screen shake. Maybe it woud work better if everything was speed up.

Cool idea, collecting the power-ups just to keep the lights on.

It could really use some feedback for bullet impacts and enemies dying; they just kinda ignore your bullets until they disappear.

Nice concept of having the lights run out making it more dangerous to wander in the dark. Powerups make it real fun to play. Nice models, although the ships look a little bit like flies from a distance.

Very cool game and I like the lights goinf on and off on the background. One thing is, it would be nice to have some kind of indication on the polayer ship health (or am I missing it?). Overall, really cool game!

A top down shooter at its most base form. Ok, there's the obligatory energy mechanic due to the theme.

Hard to get excited about basic shooting no-more. You should have added in a gimmick of some kind, be it teleportation, enemy mind control, energy harvesting/absorbing, expanded movement mechanics (energy based of course)... Anything really!

The graphics are adequate, no bugs either! An ok job for what it is.

Simple but surprisingly fun! I like the light mechanic but when it was bright the visibility suffered a bit. Good use of the theme though, nice work!
