Tetris meets Shooter Survival!

In this game you have to shoot falling Tetris Blocks! Survive by dodgin the blocks, upgrading your guy and picking up weapons!

Instructions

  • Arrow Keys or WASD to move

  • Move Mouse to point and Click to Shoot

  • Pick up weapons to Equip them

  • Hit Falling Blocks

  • If blocks fall to the ground their health multiplies by 5 and you don't get any points from killing them, so shoot them while they're up in the air.

Had to make a few late commits because of a couple of game-breaking bugs and typos. I hope that's okay :)

Had a lot of fun making this and still have more ideas but sadly too little time. Didn't have any time to make sounds which is also a shame.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy my entry, Any feedback is greatly welcome! :-)

More Screens (I'm so bad at taking these. Just accidently closed all tabs including this one with the unsaved post :| )

Solid game, a bit slow at the start, but the mechanics are nice and the genre blend is interesting. The menus look kinda bad while playing on fullscreen, but other than that the game is quite polished for a Compo entry!

So, those last minute commits, apparently, weren't enough, because the rifle's ammo can get to the negative value, which just breaks the balance of the game. Also, the power ups, money and weapons don't seem to reset when you restart the game. which meant, that I got to an insane fire rate (that lagged the game to a crawl) pretty fast, so the challenge was gone as well.

But, I see where you were going with this, and the idea was nice enough, and movement was really well done. And this power trip would be quite fun for a couple of minutes if it wasn't for the framerate issues.

Oh, and some audiovisual feedback on getting hit would be nice.

- never had a single box land - so didn't get to deal with the boxes stacking up part
- would have been nice to have the boxes change colors or something to indicate that they got more HP
- sound would have helped
- I was able to shoot the power up into negative bullets... sounds like you checked for 0 not <= 0 for disabling it.

This was a great entry! It was rather on the easy side, but fun to see JS Floats go past their maximum representable range. With some better scaling difficulty, and some UI polish, this could be a very fun Newgrounds-esque game.

EDIT: I and my gf played this on stream, if you'd like to check it out, you're at ~26:00. [Twitch Video](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/254590165)
