You are in purgatory... your soul is detached from your body, but it is still there. Your soul is running out of vital power and you need to find your body before your soul perishes for evermore. You have a chance to find it by possessing other bodies, and absorbing their vital power, but this will destroy them on brief time, don't get distracted, control their bodies and survive. The bodies have different characteristics and difficulties: more speed, tunnel vision, try using them in your benefit. (But try them not to catch you possessing someone... or the things are going to be hard...).

IMPORTANT!! When the game starts, you are a soul that can't move. To START the game you must CLICK on the body that is standing in front on you.

Controls:

  • AWSD: Movement

  • Left Click: Move soul between bodies.

  • Hold down Space Bar: Charging Sonar to detect your body

Notes:

  • If you try to possess a body while it is looking at you, it will become angry and will follow you until you die.

This game has a really creepy vibe to it. It's also rather challenging until you find out about the sonar.

Really great graphics style! I love the combination of 2D/3D, feels very "don't starve". Well done!

The graphics are amazing, I found myself just looking around at the map in awe. Very good job on those. The gameplay was a bit weird but interestingly done, very creative game altogether. I respect originality and this one has it.

Solid entry! A bit tricky (if all the available forms are clustered together far away, you might not make it in time), but the mood...Oh man, that mood makes it all worth it. Delightfully creepy.

You nailed the feeling of being in a netherworld with the music and graphics. Nice job!

Very unique concept, and a really stellar art style to boot. Pretty difficult though - deaths are pretty frequent!

Great entry :)

Interesting and atmospheric.
The graphics and art style is great, especially the
lighting effects.
It needs more variety, different creatures with unique powers for example.

hmm, I didn't get the controls to work. Somehow the web player didnt do anything with the wasd keys or spacebar or other keys, so I ended up watching the animation - I tried to put focus to the window, but it didn't help. (normally unity webgl player works fine with the controls, so dunno what exactly went wrong.)

Unfortunately I couldn't play it either :( it loads just fine but couldn't do anything 'cause controllers weren't working (I was able to click start and go to the opening scene, so I dont know whats happening) ps: that art looks really interesting so I hope I get to play it :)

@tero-pulkkinen @ikiste3d
Hi guys, did you possess the first character that appears at the beginning of the game by clicking on it? When the game starts you are in soul form, and you won't be able to move unless you possess a character.
Please let us know if the problem persists. Thanks for playing! :)

Oh, now I get it. I had to click the another player first. Looks fun now. The light modelling looks nice, and there's something to do while jumping from body to another... Great work.

Good game a bit tricky. The other bodies always see me trying to possessed them x) Seriously good game with beautiful graphics. I finally managed to find my own body so I am happy now :) Not the funniest game but it really has its own mood very well made and pleasant.

I love the twist witch reversed controls. It was surprising but quite easy to get used to. Graphics and mood are amazing :ok_hand: I'd love to explore this world but I have to hurry to find another body ;) Love this, great job!

I really liked the graphics, sound FX and music. The theme is really ad-hoc.
In my second attempt I just walked a few steps and I found my body, it was awesome xD I love the different characteristics of the bodies!!

I think you maybe may put all the rules in the begining screen, like the "don't posses a body who is looking at you" or the one that you have to click the body in order to begin the game. But it just a suggestion, all the other things are really nice and I really enjoyed the game.

Really great graphics and music! I enjoyed the fact that different bodies have different abilities! The only thing that is a bit weird for me is that sometimes I could move so fast I was off camera (maybe that's on purpose).

Anyways, Great game!

"Aaaaaaaaaaa....". I loved hearing that.

+++ The music and sound strengthen the feel of otherworldliness the game has. It felt like I was traveling in the spirit realm.
+++ Like the audio, the graphics suited the mood of the game excellently. I especially likes the colour theme.
++ The draining bar helped communicate the urgency to find a new body.

-- I couldn't find anyway to track my progress within the game.

Thanks so much for the great game.

I loved how the game looked and the draining bar was a good indicator to find a new body fast. I did have trouble finding some at first. They seem to all spawn near the bottom rather than towards the top, I'd possibly go for a wider range of spawning areas. I thought the music and sound were pretty nice, especially loved that dying sound. The graphics were spot on and it definitely aided in the whole otherworldliness type concept.

I liked the fact that the bodies had different characteristics, made it feel like I wasn't controlling the same character which is what was fun about it. Did take me a few tries to understand how to find my body xD But it was worth it in the end. Great game and solid job!

Some of the bodies are a bit to fast for the camera, otherwise a great job on the game, it was fun

Nice graphics and audio design. The main idea is great, and the running out of power pretty oppressive, which adds to the atmosphere.

My main concerns are that the mechanics are not very well conveyed and polished. For example, the "character who becomes an enemy when he catches you trying to possess him" is hard to predict and avoid.
Also, I found it hard to know which one is your body, making it easier to just spam-possess everyone.

The movement of the AI is very erratic and strange, I don't get if it was intended or if it needs a bit more polishing.

Overall, neat game!

Game design is nice ! graphics are cool too !

you shall put some "UI" with a range, this we can now when the bodies see us before we transfer the soul.

But nice work anyway !

Really great graphics and sound. At first I wasn't used to the gameplay byt after I got used to it it became intense and exciting. The the story setup and the gloomy atmophere are really good.

I feel like there were at bit too many situations where I follow the radar and walk into no man's land and die though.

Fun game with a great art component. Even if it is not that challeging, it is fun to control this bodies over the purgatory. I think that the music could be more inmersive (maybe less futuristic) but that is just an opinion. Overall experience was good, so nice work. Good luck.

Good game!
It took me several attempts to try and understand the basic mechanics, but I had fun. I like the fact that each body has its own properties. I wasn't expecting that.
Graphics are great and really add to the mood.
This game has potential. You should and endgame or victory condition (at least I couldn't find anything else to do other than possessing the bodies).

Nice work!

Nice game, pleasant graphics, i liked lights and shadows. Interesting mechanics, impressive work for 3 days. I wanted you to know, that there is controls bug, when I possess body that is looking to the right(or left), WASD movement becomes SDAW and it takes time to get used to it. If it isn't a bug, it's interesting mechanics too. Again, your game is great and I wish you good luck on this LD! :)

Nice game! It's funny because our game at some point uses a similar switch-control-between-units mechanic, and it's something we've been exploring a lot. It was surprising to see somebody else do a similar thing. The graphics were great, the mood and atmosphere were immersive and well polished.

Overall great game, though with that level of graphics and audio I would have enjoyed if it wasn't that much about replaying every few seconds and more about fewer, longer playthroughs, if that makes sense.

This game is pretty good! I liked the soundtrack of the game as it sounded nice. The audio and graphics strongly contribute to create a creepy atmosphere! Though the game was fun, it could have been more fun if the player had more power or if the power didn't drain so fast. In conclusion, I liked the audio and mood of the game but I felt the game could be more fun if it was less challenging.

Very nice mood. The colors and lighting choices were on spot! The sound in the end was funny and eerie. The concept was also very interesting.

One thing needs to be done is a better instruction on the beginning, as you can see in the comments about. Also the collisions with the trees felt a little off quite often. Maybe putting the collision just on the tree part near to the ground would help.

That being said, very nice game. The concept and the vibe tie together very well. Congrats.

Wow.. brilliant mood. It's haunting and creepy. This must be one of the better entries, in my opinion. I only have two things I'd like to point out. One - I'm a bit confused on the purpose of bodies that follow me - do they drain my power or is it to add to the creep factor? Two, the difficulty of the game is unpredictable each round. Not sure if intentional. Thanks so much for this game. The atmosphere and sound is quite inspiring.

Great job on mood. The lighting is spectacular! Graphics are top notch. The music was too repetitive but fit the mood. That is very strange idea of what purgatory may look like but to each their own. Its a very polished game. this is the biggest team I've found yet so my expectations were quite high, and ultimately I'm not sure if that helped you. The first time I played it for some reason the left click wouldn't do anything for my soul so i just stood there an died next to fresh bodies that (somehow) declined my possession. the next time I played I used the sonar found a body before the time ran out and the left click worked but then the game was over, I had won. Where is the challenge? I liked that you incorporated colors into the characters. why not make a "Guess Who" element to your game instead of a radar. Like every time you posses a body you get a clue of what your body might look like, where it might hang out, that kinda of thing. The radar was too easy. Very pretty game folks!

Interesting concept, but I think the mechanics and everything need refining. Not entirely sure what the win conditions are but I managed to win after 3 seconds into the game O.o Nifty idea with the souls in purgatory having different random mechanics when you control them. Nice!
