Zap The Zombies ! by roxter08
The zombies are taking over your beautiful home. Good that your loyal drone is On Guard! Be the drone and fly around the house while Zapping all the Zombies with your laser gun !
But be careful of battery charge. The battery of your drone drains as you fire the laser. When it is low stop firing for a while to recharge .
Controls:
Use the touch joystick to rotate the laser gun.
Fly your drone either with touch inputs or gyro.
You can also zoom in and out for better focus.
Play the game and have fun Zapping The Zombies ;)

But yes we had loads of fun making our first game for Ludum Dare. Me and my artist friend Alex are the only two persons working on driving the zombies off our neighbourhood.
Although we did use some 3rd party royalty free assets like 3D models and Game Music from Unity Asset Store and OpenGameArt.org
I will post their links soon in another comment. But a big thanks to them for sharing such awesome works for free.
For the game we have used the following tools:
Unity Engine for the game ofcourse
Audacity and Bosca Ceoil for sounds
Adobe Photoshop and Pixlr online for the 2D artworks.
Off to bed now. But soon will return to play what you guys have made. Can't wait for that ;)
Cheers!
I'd say, it has some real potential.
The gameplay can get a little tedious though. I would suggest making the laser do more damage but also having the zombies move faster. Right now both the movement and shooting are just not at a high enough past. If you create the sense of urgency than it feels more entertaining.
Overall great job and goodluck!
Check out my game if you like!

Check it out. And please dont forget to rate and comment.
Some tips/ideas:
- reduce the waiting times before next wave after killing all zombies
- swap the keys A and D
- increase the firepower of the laser
- shooting the house should damage it
- add a possibility to change the altitude (to be able to zap more zombies in a row)
- add a possibility to land (for faster recharging or even disable recharging when in-air, maybe also for pickups/upgrades or for setting zombie-traps)
- increase the stall time after hitting a zombie
- discharge the battery when moving (A/D)
- add more weapons! (upgrades? EMP? stronger laser pulse, which would need to be charged?)
- add more levels of destruction to the house model
- the game got stuck when the house was destroyed (Animations stopped, but no end-game screen was showed. I could just move the laser, but firing or moving the drone did not work)
Thanks for the WebGL build. I'm glad I could play it!
To keep things interesting maybe add more weapons or upgrades. And reduce the waiting time between waves. I thought I had broken your game after killing all zombies in wave 2 :p
Keep up the great work, congratulations!
* The mouse aim didn't really work well except close to the house. (This could have been helped by hiding the cursor).
* My house kept loosing health without there being any visible zombies in sight. Anyone behind the house? Or invisible zombie?
* It would really have been nice with a score or some kind of win / loose condition.
