Satellite Impact by Lucc

[raw]
made by Lucc for LD 43 (JAM)

The situation

With all else lost, Earth is left without protection. All you have at your arms, is an ever-growing population of workers, willing to give up their lives to be Earth's last chance at survival.

Your task

Utilise these fine few individuals, to create satellites that will stand in the path of oncoming asteroids on their path to destruction and total world annihilation.

Known Issues

  • Maximum number of satellites can be exceeded.
  • Tutorial scaling on certain resolutions causes issues.

Really fun game ;-) One thing though: You can place satelites around the earth which makes it quite easy so survive (attachted picture) Maybe limit satelite placement to an even lower number...![Bildschirmfoto von 2018-12-03 19-13-07.png](///raw/e58/02/z/1cf78.png)

Hey, nice game!

Really liked the game! The graphics is simple, but yet great. The sprites you used for the game (Especially the Earth one) is also great. Overall I think you did a great job, but I feel like the game doens't really get harder over time, maybe you should have made it so the time decreases until like 1 second so you have to be quick. Earth's rotation is also a very nice mechanic, and I really liked that you have to like predict where the comet will hit. However, I found it very easy just to cover the whole planet, and just when ever one of the satellites get destroyed, you just make a new one. Maybe you should have made some audio for the game too, as I feel it would really make the game a bit better (Maybe some explosion sounds, or some music!)

But overall, a very nice game

@procezz at 20 000 it started to go very fast.

Cool concept! It was really easy to just build a shield all the way around to protect the planet though which trivialized the asteroids. Maybe multiple asteroids coming at once would up the ante?

Anyway, your pixel art is great and I had a good time with the game!

A good example as to why simple things can be the good ones. As others have mentioned, at some point it's easy to build a shield around Earth so maybe lower the max asteroids you can have at the same time? Other than that, great job!

It is a very nice hyper casual game. Simple but engaging.

Cool game, but I think you should resize both the asteroids and the satellites because it's a bit to easy to survive at the moment. Cool idea and nice art.

Really clever game concept! In my opinion you should work on the pacing. It fealt reeealy slow in the beginning. At around 10000 to 11000 points, it startet to feel right. Before it was just too easy. Maybe there should be multiple asteroids at the same time from different directions more often, because I really just needed one satellite at a time... Nevertheless it was really fun to play.

This was a neat little idea that could be taken in all sorts of directions. Definitely needs some sound and music. Some directional audio of approaching asteroids and a nice crunch would drive it home, and other things to buy plus upgrades would flesh out the mechanic.

Nice concept, good graphics but gameplay is too easy in my opinion.
