The concept is nice. The realtime component I'm not sure, but surely is an innovation. Good job! I'll come back to rate it.

I love the idea! The music is great too, but it is a bit annoying that you can kill your own king.

I killed my own king! It's strange that units are killed while on the move; I feel like it would be a little easier to plan if it only happened when they were still.

I felt stronger playing with just my king than with all the other pieces, but I suppose that's your thematic point. ;)

interesting game, though i would have enjoyed it more if it was turn based, and not live. but thats just my personal taste.

I see potential here! This could be the start of a really cool chess-based strategy game!

As the others, I'm not sure about the game being real-time. However, that's not my main complaint, but the fact that pieces can break others just by passing by their side. I think pieces should only destroy others if they actually fall in the corresponding square. The game sometimes feels kind of random because of that (for example, I was trying a strategy and suddenly a bishop in the black squares killed my king in a white square).

Good job with the music and the graphics too!

It's harder than it seems, and that's pretty cool... it really makes you think ahead and quickly. Nice concept. I do agree that pieces should not be destroyed by glancing moves.

I do like the realtime chess component a lot but there are some aspects regarding defined ways enemy pieces can move and fly-by knockouts that detract from the experience a bit. I think you can definitely take this further even without the chess skin and turn into something neat!

It takes some time to realize this is not a game of classic chess, maybe you need to mention this in the tutorial. =) The only chess game where player can literally dodge a rook's attack. So fun!

Man I loved your idea, great game design from you. There is some small problems liked getting destructed mid-air while dragging and stuff, but the gameplay is awesome! The music gets annoying after some time, maybe small variations between levels would be good. Amazing overall!

Ha ha ha… so bishops can destroy a king with a low kick?
Nice take on chess, the real time element needs more restrictions though. At the end, the only effective strategy I found was to only play king… and dodge like crazy.
Congratulation on your entry.

I always appreciate a tutorial, but I wish this one had spelled out the rules a bit more. I didn't realize it wasn't turn based for an embarrassing amount of time. Also, good atmosphere!

Real time chess is a really interesting idea! The controls feel imprecise, but I love it anyway!

Neat idea! The some small mistakes on execution: I didn't like the drag control, it fails in crucial moves. A click control would be a better choice. The music, graphics and animation are simple, but very effective in set the mood! Initially, I dislike the friendly fire, but it was only a matter of mastering the controls, and fits well with the theme. Overall: A great entry for compo!

Suggestion: Don't restart the music loop when the player lose. On my firsts tries, I died a lot at first level, so the loop restarts very frequently.

My record was 85 points after keep playing for almost a hour.
